Cat cleverly 'covers' camera when mom catches German Shepherd chewing something
The term “Terrible Twos” refers to a stage in child development that typically occurs around the age of two.
It is characterized by a period of increased independence and assertiveness in toddlers, accompanied by occasional tantrums, defiance, and challenging behavior.
During this phase, children are developing their sense of individuality and test boundaries as they explore the world around them.
However, the term “terrible” can be sometimes misleading, as it doesn’t necessarily mean that all two-year-olds will exhibit extreme behavior or be difficult all the time.
It is simply a time when children may display more frequent mood swings, resistance to parental instructions, and emotional outbursts.
The Terrible Twos stage is a normal part of a child’s development as they learn to express themselves, assert their independence, and navigate their growing autonomy.
It can be a challenging time for parents and caregivers who are adjusting to these changes and learning how to guide their child through this developmental phase with patience and understanding.
But Terrible Twos doesn’t only apply to humans, it also does to furry companions.
Carly, a homeowner, told Amazon’s surveillance camera company Ring, “[She’s] going through a terror phase. She’s eaten every single ornament she can reach on the tree and has proceeded to go after picture frames!”
The ‘destructive’ behavior couldn’t be rectified right away, so she just decided to catch her dog, Mercy, while ripping things apart.
All she wanted was to scold Mercy to let her know that what she’s been doing the entire time was wrong.
However, as expected, things didn’t go as planned.
Carly set a surveillance camera up where her furry children usually hang out. There, the ‘culprit’, Mercy was enjoying every bite of what seemed to be a stick-like object.
To stop her, Carly started talking through the camera and said, “Mercy… What is that? Put that down!”
To her surprise, Mercy’s ear perked up and looked totally confused.
Surely, she heard her human mom talk, but she was nowhere to be found.
Eventually, Mercy looked like she somehow figured out where the sound was coming from. While staring at the camera, she tried to figure out how her mom was able to speak from it.
Carly continued getting her dog’s attention by calling her name, “Mercy! Drop that! Mercy!”
Mercy didn’t even budge an inch after hearing her mom telling her to stop, she’s definitely a stubborn doggo who doesn’t listen to momma if I may say.
As it turned out Mercy has two feline siblings who always have her back.
Perhaps after hearing their human mom’s voice, a curious-looking white cat suddenly appeared inside the camera’s frame.
Then came from above the camera was a black and white cat named Ling Ling.
Also intrigued by where the voice was coming from, she started sniffing the camera.
Curious Ling Ling’s face covered the entire frame of the camera and it’s like her way of pacifying Carly from getting upset with Mercy.
“Ling Ling! Ling Ling! Move,” Carly said while trying to hold her laugh down.
Ling Ling continued sniffing the camera and hoped her mama Carly was inside.
The adorable scene was caught and uploaded on YouTube. As of this writing, it has already amassed nearly 1.5 million views.
You’d never really know what happens to your pets once you leave home.
Thankfully, surveillance cameras are available to help you monitor your pets from afar.
Not unless they have very reliable furry siblings or furry friends who are ready to ‘cover’ them up once they’re caught being naughty, just like Mercy and Ling Ling.
