We all know that cats usually hang out on the sofa, on carpets, and on computer keyboards. Strangely, these are the places where they find their peace and quiet time.

However, this sweet little cat loves to be on his dad’s instrumental keyboard, especially when he is playing it.

A musician who became a feline lover!

Sarper Duman is a 28-year-old pianist and music teacher who currently resides in Istanbul, Turkey. He also rescues abandoned street cats and he now has a whopping 18 rescue cats at home. His cats love it whenever he plays the piano, they get mesmerized whenever Sarper lays his hands on the keyboard.

His Instagram account has a collection of pictures and videos featuring his incredibly cute felines. People seem to love his videos where he lets his cats listen to his beautiful music. These videos are viral and so is his account. In fact, as of this writing, his Instagram account has 1.1 million followers!

Surprisingly, there’s a sad but touching story behind his love for cats and for music.

He tried to end his own life!

Based on a Facebook video, Sarper was unhappy and depressed with his life before. He became anxious and lost his will to live because of the unending and countless problems that the world was facing back then.

He felt so hopeless and that extreme feeling made him jump from a building’s rooftop. Luckily, he survived and only got a broken back from his suicide attempt. He still ended up unhappy after the shocking incident because it left him temporarily paralyzed.

He lived that way for a year but then something unexpected happened. One day, their family went to a park, and at that time and place, his thoughts were still afloat and wandering somewhere. While everyone was busy, a cat walked towards him out of nowhere.

That cat changed his life!

He realized that just like him, animals need help too! He then found his life’s new purpose because of that stray cat. He decided to take that cat home and soon, he rescued more homeless cats. He adopted those who badly needed care like the blind, the injured, and the sick ones.

His love and care for homeless cats blossomed and skyrocketed. Soon, he ended up having a total of 19 cats at home.

Sarper started to get his life back.

He fully recovered from the injuries of his dark past and pretty soon, he was back on his feet. He became happier and more positive about life. He also got a decent job and that is being a piano teacher!

One day, one of his students asked him how to play a particular song. He came up with the idea of recording it, but he didn’t know that a bigger surprise was about to happen.

When he was playing the piano, one of his cats jumped over and decided to join him. Pretty soon, the feline looked like it got hypnotized by the music because it closed its eyes while its paws were on the keyboard.

He decided to share the video and the next day, he got extremely shocked by the outcome. The cute piano music video with his cat went viral and gave him 55,000 followers in just one night. What’s even more surprising was that the video was also shared by Ellen DeGeneres and got tweeted by Zayn Malik. Not to mention that it was already viewed more than 93 million times.

He loves music as much as he loves his cats.

We can’t deny that Saper loves his felines as much as he loves his music. That’s why he always has his cats alongside him whenever he plays the piano. In this particular video, it’s obvious that this cat fell in love with her dad’s music.

It almost looked like the feline had fallen asleep on the keyboard, not until she cuddled Sarper in the middle part of the video. It’s such a heartwarming sight to see a cat that’s entirely mesmerized by its dad’s good music.

We found out the bitter-sweet story of the cat from the caption of the video. Sarper wrote:

“About 2 years ago, when I was on my way home at midnight, I found him thrown in a trash can, tied up in a plastic bag.. They had thrown him away with a broken leg and he was screaming in pain.. He had surgery, got better and held onto life oh so beautifully.. He loves so innocently, so beautifully.. Everyone says I make him happy but actually, whenever I play the piano for him, I get even happier than him.. ”
