Have you ever watched an orchestra when all of a sudden a phone rings? Like most people in the audience, you were probably startled and disoriented. We can all agree that interruptions in live shows are generally annoying.

However, as one video shows, not all surprise interludes are created equal. Some are received with joy. This is especially true when a cute little feline is involved.

Just ask anyone who has seen the viral video of a stray cat interrupting an orchestra to understand what we mean!

This cat is not afraid to steal the show

In the Cemal Reşit Rey Concert Hall in Instabul, Turkey an orchestra is about to begin its live performance. All the chairs, music sheets and other stage props are where they are supposed to be. There is one little thing that does not seem to belong though. On stage is a stray cat blissfully sitting waiting for the show to begin.

Our furry intruder continues to sit on stage as orchestra members fill in their seats one by one. In the video, which has been liked over 8,000 times, we see that the musicians do not realize that they have a guest on stage. They are so concentrated on the upcoming live show that they do not notice anything.

The orchestra gets a shock when they see the guest star

The musicians’ quiet seriousness quickly changes as they realise that they are not alone. They exchange nervous giggles and look at the unexpected guest. They try to maintain their composure but our feline performance-bomber had other plans. He decides to approach the musicians one by one.

The orchestra members try to negotiate with the cat

The musicians do their best to shoo the cat off the stage. Some try the subtle approach of gently talking to him. Others physically (yet gently) try to get a hold of him. However, our furry concert crasher is too slick to be caught. He ignores all attempts to get him off-stage and makes one bold move after another.

The show must go on

The conductor decides that the orchestra has to start playing. He takes his position in the podium and interacts with the audience. Our musical feline decides to steal the show once again and steps on the platform. He positions himself beside the conductor and lingers there.

At this point in the video, the audience roars in laughter. The conductor playfully smiles and asks if anyone is allergic to cats. When no one answers affirmatively, he decides to move forward with the show. He knows there is no shame in allowing the cat to revel in the beautiful music his orchestra is about to produce!

The performance begins and the cat decides to watch the audience instead

In an interesting plot twist, when the music plays, the cat decides to stop concentrating on the musicians. Instead, he watches the audience. Perhaps, our little feline just prefers to have his back turned on the orchestra so he listens intently on how the notes mix together. No one knows for sure. What is certain is that this orchestra-loving cat has captured the hearts of many.
