We all have a “laundry day”.

Laundry day is a weekly holiday that we all know about. Well, it’s supposed to be weekly, at least, but we’ve all been guilty of pushing off that basket of clothes. I mean, this shirt has only been worn a fewww times.

For Mike Bowers, laundry day turned into a viral sensation.

With laundry day arrived, Mike proceeded to load up the washer and get to work. Part of his routine also included stripping the bed of its sheets and pillows and giving those a thorough cleaning as well.

If there is something we know about cats, it’s that they love a fresh mattress to roll on!

For some strange reason, cats seem to LOVE mattresses. For Mike’s cat, Winston, his typical mattress-rolling was about to be upgraded. Mike had gotten a memory foam layer to go on his existing mattress, and Winston had just lept fully on it!

Funny enough, Winston’s reaction isn’t that different than the first time you or I plated with memory foam.

As a kid, you saw the commercials of a man jumping on one end while a glass of wine was perfectly stable on the other. To an 8-year-old, that’s basically magic. Who doesn’t want to sleep on magic?

For Winston, that childlike amusement seemed to consume him!

Pressing down on a section of the matters, only to have it pop back up like you never did, it is downright exhilarating for a cat! When Winston discovered that his pawprints would be erased like Mr. Clean himself was there fixing it, he couldn’t help himself.

Pressing down over and over, Winston kept stopping to look at his paws!

“What kind of sorcery is this?” was probably going through the felines head! Every time he put his paws down, they would sink in, almost pulling him into the bed!

“He wasn’t quite sure what was going on with his sinking paws,” Bowers said.

The only solution? The bed must be alive.

To Winston, the answer was clear. The bed was alive! Jumping backward while trying to keep his paws from being “sucked in”, the poor cat is confused at what is happening.

Unfortunately, the 15 seconds that was recorded comes to an end MUCH too soon.

The story of Winston and the memory foam mattress is a fleeting, if funny, one. BUT. There is good news. All it takes is a simple YouTube search of “cats on memory foam mattresses” to make all your dreams come true. While Winston is probably the most famous of the memory foam cats, he isn’t the only one!

You can spend hours watching these cat videos online.
