Cat loves his stuffed piggy so much he takes it wherever he goes
Many people erroneously believe that cats are solitary creatures and don’t like to play with others.
However, this is not true. Cats love to play alone, with their toys or with their humans. This is how they let out their energy, especially if they live indoors and don’t get the chance to go outside and play with other cats or hunt for fun.
It has been observed by several cat owners that their feline buddies enjoy playing with stuffed animals. This probably gives them a feeling of security and affection they received by their moms, or replaces in a way the love and affection they haven’t given to their kittens- if they have been neutered.
In this case, our furry friend Diego doesn’t go anywhere without his favorite stuffed pig.
When Diego was younger, he had some health issues that caused him to grow smaller than most cats his age, and this sometimes makes it difficult for him to play the same way they can. He has always had a love of toys, but one of them is his favorite: a pink pig.
“He keeps it nearby all the time,” Diego’s mom told The Dodo. “He takes it wherever he goes. He loves his little piggy.”
A few years ago, Diego was given the pig as a present by a family member. Since then, the cat has become inseparable with the stuffed animal to the point that he doesn’t go anywhere without it: they will play together, nap together, eat together, and he even grooms and cleans it as if the piggy were his real kitten.
“If he can’t find it he walks around meowing,” she said. “Sometimes when the door is cracked he gets locked in a room trying to go through due to the size of the stuffed pig.”
Now, what happens if he can’t find the pig? Well, it has happened once: Diego misplaced it in the house and neither he or his parents could find it. He wouldn’t stop meowing and he was really upset, so his mom, Crystal Cook, gave him a pink pillow to calm him down. Surprisingly, it worked: Diego would lie on it and stay there until his real buddy was found.
As you can imagine, once the stuffed pig returned, Diego forgot everything about the pillow and didn’t bother with it again.
Now everyone in the house knows that wherever Diego is, the stuffed pig is too. It’s just the way it is, and it’s part of their everyday life.
In any case, we find the relationship between the kitty and its toy really adorable. We can imagine him walking around the house carrying his little friend with him and it just warms our hearts. It’s nice to see this side of cats, too, instead of the solitary, aloof one that we get most of the time.
Enjoy your life with piggy, Diego! You’re both lovely!
