You know when you walk by a mirror and notice something about yourself that looks new or maybe a little off? Maybe it’s a grey hair, a pimple, or that fact that you nailed your eye make-up this morning. Whatever the case, you notice new things, so your cat should be no different, right?

Meet Mimo. She’s a Scottish Straight who lives with her family in Brooklyn, New York.

Mimo realizes she’s the cat’s meow when she catches a glimpse of herself in the mirror. No, she’s not doting over her good looks. Something else caught her eye.

What are those pointy triangles?

Mimo notices something. No, they can’t be, can they?

Her owner starts recording when she notices that Mimo has seen something she never realized she had…ears!

Even the biggest dog lover can find this funny and adorable. Mimo just doesn’t look and then jump off the bed. She’s examining these fun little triangles sticking out of her head. She even reaches her paw to see if they’re real.

She’s probably thinking, why didn’t you tell me I had these funny things sticking up on my head! Not cool!

Mimo even turns around at one point in the video and stares at her owner. Oh great, another video of me to put on her social media feed, Mimo must be thinking. Actually, the owner may be putting it on Mimo’s social media page.

Mimo has her own Instagram account with more than 7,500 followers, human of course. But, her owner did share it on her own social media account. She actually got Ellen DeGeneres’ attention who featured Mimo on cat week!

Mimo is quite popular. Not only has she been on the “Ellen” show and has her own Instagram account, but her video has received more than three million views on Facebook over the past year and a half. People love their cats!

They’re mainly impressed by Mimo’s ability to recognize herself in the mirror.

While Mimo’s discovery could have turned into a “cat”-tastrophe, it really was a life-changing moment for this feline. She not only discovered her ears, but she also discovered some fame. Not too shabby for a cat!
