We all need a haircut every now and then, and the same thing definitely applies to some pets. Peaches, for example, couldn’t wait until she got some of her fur removed, but when her owner saw her again with her new haircut, she burst out in tears of laughter.

The reason why?

It turns out Peaches’ new haircut was quite revealing and really doesn’t leave much to your imagination.

The adorable chubby feline has an absolutely amazing and warmhearted personality. She used to be a shelter cat, but the in-laws of Chrissy Higginson Barnabei met this furry four-footer and didn’t hesitate to adopt her. Peaches definitely was in luck with such amazing human owners, but they did spoil her just a tad too much. After all, her weight has become quite a problem and the cat put up a lot of extra pounds after she found a new home.

Her being overweight also led to a sanitary complication: the poor kitten couldn’t reach a couple of essential spots to clean herself.

“Since then she’s been on diet food and a strict feeding schedule,” Chrissy said to The Dodo. “[But] unfortunately, because of Peaches’ size, she has trouble cleaning herself.”

Chrissy’s in-laws weren’t able to take care of Peaches anymore and she needed a new home. Luckily, Chrissy’s family then offered to take the affectionate kitten in.

Chrissy and the rest of the family knew that something needed to change for Peaches and that her lifestyle was becoming dangerous for her health. Losing weight was the main goal – mainly through a proper diet, but also through exercise.

It was clear that the cat was very uncomfortable with her condition as well, and wasn’t really in the mood for exercising. Chrissy thought that would all improve if Peaches got a fresh haircut.

The veterinarian told the woman that Peaches would benefit from a so-called ‘sanity cut’, which basically removes the fur around the butt. She approved, but we’re pretty sure she didn’t expect Peaches to come home like this!

It turns out that Peaches has quite the large bottom, and you really can’t miss it now that the surrounding fur has been removed.

“I burst out laughing once I saw her big pink booty,” Peaches’ owner said. “I was pretty shocked but couldn’t help but laugh.”

Amazingly, Peaches loved her new look and wasn’t embarrassed or timid about it at all!

“She’s totally owning her new look. She is such a diva,” Barnabei said. “It has helped her tremendously. She no longer has issues or discomfort. I thought that she would be cold, but she’s totally fine.”

It’s been a couple of weeks since her fur got snipped, and Peaches feels completely reborn! She’s currently bravely going through her weight loss journey. Chrissy says that ever since the haircut, Peaches has become more active and will thus lose pounds more easily.

“Once she loses a few pounds, she’ll be able to reach, and then no more sanitary cuts for her,” Chrissy concluded. “Though it is pretty funny to see her pink butt flash by all the time.”
