Everyone has dreams, and some are bigger than others. Especially if your dream is to be a rock star. It also happens to be common for people to get nervous when they step out to pursue their dreams, but not for Cece. She is always ready to sing her song.

Cece Fray went to audition for a contestant spot on X-Factor, and she was sure she had it in the bag. Her song choice? The notoriously difficult Unchained Melody by The Righteous Brothers. Even though this song has squashed up and coming hopefuls before, Cece seemed to know that she could do no wrong.

Unfortunately, the judges weren’t so sure about that, or her song choice.

The audition was set for the 2012 season of the hit talent show. The young Cece was already talking mad trash backstage because she was sure of herself and her singing.

While she was waiting to be called on, she spent her time introducing herself to other contestants. She was playing mind-games with them, trying to knock them off their game pre-audition. While she herself was bubbling with exuberance, her arrogance was already starting to bother people.

When her turn was up, she introduced herself as Cece Frey. She told judges that she was certain she was the best singer in the house that day. From the look on their faces, they were hoping her voice was better than her attitude.

When she finally gets done bashing the other singers, which she admittedly hadn’t even heard yet, it was her time to shine.

As Unchained Melody begins playing in the background, Cece steps to the front of the stage with utter confidence. As soon as she opens her mouth, though, the entire audience was onto her. She had definitely oversold her singing capabilities. As she struggled to hit each note, things were starting to take a dive for the young hopeful.

Her take on the song was so far from what judges were expecting that they couldn’t even keep looking at her. At one point, they force themselves to look away out of embarrassment for the young girl.

A few bars into the song, Cece’s off-key voice was just more than the judges could take. One of them shoots their hand into the air, bringing Cece’s song to a screeching halt. You can see from the look on her face that the teen is visibly shaken. She can’t believe they stopped her song.

The judge explains that she’s totally confused. Cece’s leopard tattoo and holier-than-thou attitude had them all geared up for her performance. Only when her time was up, she was flopping like a fish out of water. Plus, her entire appearance was out of place compared to the slow song choice.

Having her song interrupted definitely brought the would-be rock star back down to earth. When they ask if she has anything else to present them with, she doesn’t waste a second. She immediately tells them to play Ain’t No Other Man by Christina Aguilera.

From the judges’ faces, it would seem that this was a daring song choice as well. Still, they would hear her out.

From the second she belts out that first long, undulating note, it’s clear that this is the song Cece should have led with.

The strong vocals and wild beat of the music meshed much more with the vibe that the young singer was giving off. Instantly, all of the judges and audience are into the song. Everyone is moving with it but, most importantly, Cece Frey was absolutely crushing it!

Here is the talent that made the girl so confident. The judges were finally getting a sneak preview at what she could really do with her voice and her attitude.

When the song comes to a close, the room roars with applause from judges and the audience alike. Now it’s time to judge.

Though her attitude, in the beginning, was leaving a bit to be desired, it couldn’t have helped her stage presence with the second song more.

All of the judges gave her a resounding yes. They made sure to tell Cece that the attitude in her stage presence is what tied it all together, along with the fact that she is incredibly talented.

While she puts up a good front, you can tell how flooded she is with relief when she hears she’ll be moving to the next round. We’re proud of Cece for stepping back up to the plate even though she was shut down just before. It takes something extra special to pull that off, and Cece Frey has it.
