Like humans, animals also need freedom. They deserve to wander and interact with the environment freely. Sadly, it’s the other way round for some animals.

Many animals are suffering and experiencing brutal treatment from some people. Some are being slaughtered for food – which is heartbreaking.

A horse in Letea was found in a poor condition. It obviously received cruel treatment from someone as its legs were chained together.

In parts of Romania, it is a way to prevent wild horses from running away while they are being hunted for their meat. Undeniably, it is totally inhumane. Aside from immobilizing them, it surely causes them pain.

A veterinarian from the Four Paws team is about to put an end to the horse’s suffering.

This compassionate man is Ovidiu Rosu.

He starts by shooting the horse with a tranquilizer gun so it will put to sleep. This will let him do what he needs to do to save the wild horse without getting hurt. Ovidiu does the work while another horse is watching him. He also covers its eyes to keep it sleeping because if not, the animal might panic and attempt to run.

Visibly, its front hooves are both chained and it looks painful. This thing doesn’t only stop the horses from running, but it also cuts into their skin. No one deserves this kind of situation.

It’s time to do the work for the vet.

Using a pair of pliers, he tries to detach the wires on the horse’s hooves. He does it as carefully as possible. The vet also checks the horse’s wound that it got from being chained.

The horse that just got unchained and has good friends beside him too. It looks like they are observing the Four Paws team while they are taking care of their friend. It seems that they are grateful to them for doing it.

The entire team waits for the rescued horse to be conscious.

As it wakes up, they immediately remove the cover on his eyes. They also help it up to its hooves.

They didn’t leave until they see it stand up. They have to make sure that the horse is going to be fine.

The horse was freed!

This is after the team did everything to save the wild horse.

The horse expressed his gratitude by kissing the rescuer. Its sweetness leaves Ovidiu smiling and it is contagious.

Thanks to the Four Paws team for their heart to help the animals that need help. Their hard work is all worth it as they ended the horse’s agony. The freedom that they provided to the horse changed its life forever. It is also heartwarming to see how these horses showed their love for their fellow horse. The way they thanked the rescuer is just unfeigned that it touched many hearts.
