Thanks to Allison Miller

This recipe came from Allison Miller of Tornadough Allie. (Isn’t that a clever name?) Her cheesy crockpot potatoes are just one of her many amazing dishes. She’s known for packing flavor into every single bite. She also uses interesting ingredients that take an average recipe from ordinary to mouthwatering delicious.

Ingredients you’ll need

Don’t forget to pick up all of the ingredients you’re going to need for this recipe. That includes:

  • 32 oz. of frozen diced potatoes
  • One medium onion (diced)
  • One cup of sour cream
  • 10.5 oz. can of cream of chicken soup
  • Half a teaspoon of garlic powder
  • Half teaspoon of onion powder
  • 4 tablespoons of melted butter
  • Two and a half cups of shredded cheddar cheese
  • Salt and pepper to taste

Getting started

First, you’ll want to put your frozen potatoes in the crockpot. Next, add the onion and sour cream. Mix these ingredients to coat the potatoes evenly. That’ll make things extra yummy.

Add in a special ingredient

After that, you’ll add the “secret” ingredient. Okay, it’s not really a secret but it is one of the most important parts of this dish. This is when you add the cream of chicken soup. This will give the dish a depth of flavor that’s impossible to achieve otherwise.

Finish it up

Next, add in the remaining ingredients. Use a spoon to stir it all up, making sure it’s all evenly mixed. Finally, turn the crockpot on low and cook the dish for about four hours. Do whatever you need to do around the home during this time…the dish will cook on its own without you doing anything else to it.

Add some extra cheese at the end

Before you’re ready to serve your meal (and while it’s still hot), you can add more cheese on top. This will give it an even creamier and cheesier flavor. And who doesn’t want more cheese?
