Chef demonstrates how to cook perfect bacon every single time

Is there anything more instantly appetizing than bacon?

How do a few thin slices of pork transform a mundane breakfast into a banquet, or a simple burger into a delectable moment?

There’s no denying that bacon is a flavor shortcut… a big flavor.

They say that adding bacon to any dish improves it and we tend to agree.

“For Us Foodies” is a YouTube food channel that has done some important legwork for all of us. It discovered the perfect way to cook bacon every time. Their method takes a little longer than others, but it produces perfect, crispy bacon every time.

The first thing you should do is cut your bacon in half.

This may appear strange, but it results in smaller strips that cook more evenly and render the fat.

Make use of a small pan.

This is the next step in perfectly cooking your bacon. Rather than baking or using a large skillet, use a smaller pan. Preheat your pan, but make sure it’s on medium heat.

The other important point is to allow your bacon to cook on medium heat for a longer period. This would allow the fat to render and the bacon to cook in its oil.

Take it one side at a time.

Instead of rashly stirring your bacon in the hopes of evenly cooking each piece, lay each strip down and cook one side at a time. Flipping isn’t just for burgers anymore!

Fry for two to three minutes on each side.

It’s flipping time, mate!

Flip your bacon and cook for another two to three minutes on the other side.

Your strips should be getting some lovely brown crispy edges.

Remove the first strips and place them on a paper towel to dry.

While grease is your friend in the pan, you’ll want to drain any excess oil from the strips.

You should now have a nice little pool of grease in which to fry your next strips of bacon.

Fry the remaining strips.

Place a few strips in at a time, making sure not to overcrowd the pan. Remember that slow and steady wins the race, which in this case means getting each bacon strip just right.

Cook the strips in the same manner as you did the first time.

Grease pot. Hopefully, there will be enough grease in your small pan to ensure that your bacon is sufficiently submerged to fry evenly.

The more bacon you use, the more grease you can accumulate!

That’s all you need, folks!

You’ll have a plate full of bacon that will have the whole family drooling at the end of this process!

Each strip will be crisped all over and cooked evenly. Every bite is packed with flavor!
