Mom tosses chicken breasts into slow cooker for an easy, delicious meal the whole family loves

Most people’s culinary skills have been stretched to the limit due to social distancing. If you’re looking for a delicious and easy meal, then this is the perfect solution!

Chicken can be made into so many different meals. Of course, we all have our staple chicken recipes.

But perhaps your family is getting a little bored of that same chicken and pasta meal over and over again. If so, then try this slow cooker chicken and dumplings recipe.

It’s sure to please!

Firstly, you need to gather these ingredients to feed a family:

One large onion.

One and a quarter pounds of boneless and skinless chicken breast.

One teaspoon of oregano.

Two cans of cream of chicken soup.

Two cups of chicken broth.

Four sprigs of thyme.

One bay leaf.

Two stalks of celery.

Two carrots.

One cup of frozen peas.

Three cloves of garlic.

One pack of refrigerated biscuits.

Half a cup of parmesan.

Two tablespoons of parsley.

Salt and pepper to taste.

To make the meal, just take the following steps:

Dice the onion and sprinkle it into the slow cooker. Put the whole chicken breasts on top of this. Then sprinkle on top of the chicken the oregano, salt and pepper.

Pour in the soup and broth. Add the thyme and the bay leaf. Put the lid on the cooker and cook it on high for approximately three hours.

Chop up the celery and carrots. Mince the garlic.

Remove the thyme sprigs and the bay leaf. Take the cooked chicken breasts out of the cooker and shred them up with some forks, like pulled pork.

Put the chicken back in the cooker and add the carrots, the peas, the celery and the garlic.

Take the biscuits out of the container and cut them into little triangles. Place the biscuits into the slow cooker. Cover the slow cooker and leave it cooking on high for one more hour.

Lastly, scoop everyone up a bowl of chicken and dumplings, sprinkle them with parmesan and parsely and enjoy!

If you really do want to make your own biscuits, then you should have the following ingredients:

Three cups of all-purpose flour.

Three tablespoons of sugar.

Half a teaspoon of salt.

Four teaspoons of baking powder.

Three-quarters of a cup of very cold butter. (The colder the butter, the better the biscuit.)

One egg.

One cup of milk.

To make these biscuits, cut the butter into small pieces and then put the butter back in the fridge. Whisk together all of the dry ingredients. Add the butter to the dry ingredients. Add the milk and egg. Mix together the ingredients until you have a sticky dough. Knead the dough and if it stays too sticky, sprinkle more flour onto it. Then shape the dough into biscuits, cut them up and add them to your soup!
