2-year-old want to show support, so she dresses up every week as different essential worker

What can I do to help during the coronavirus pandemic?

Many have asked themselves this very question in recent months, trying to figure out sanitary, socially distant ways to provide services and support to health workers on the front lines and alongside the bedridden.

The Clap for Our Carers campaign provides millions of United Kingdom residents the opportunity to thank their National Health Service workers – doctors, nurses, and all else. Every Thursday at 8 pm, thousands of Britons clap on their doorsteps and balconies, lending their socially distant helping hands.

But one particular supporter stands out among the rest. 2-year-old Eliza Stonebank shows her support in style, rocking cute little costumes as homage to those on the viral front lines. Each Thursday, Eliza sports a smile and an entirely new costume.

Whether dressed as a nurse or paramedic, little Eliza’s been lending her support every Thursday. She’s overjoyed to offer a hand and morale boost to those that need it most.

In fact, her costumes extend beyond just health workers. Her ideas for cute outfits are endless. So far, she’s sported the garbs of a doctor, surgeon, paramedic, nurse, and even a supermarket worker.

Every Thursday, little Eliza pays respects to NHS workers with thousands of others.

She’s cute as a button.

About 1.3 million citizens work through the National Health Service – people risking their health every single day, for the good of the realm. Many have lost their lives along the way, but the Thursday clappers are making sure their efforts will never be forgotten.

Eliza – only 2 years old – likely doesn’t even understand the impact her small gestures have. Although many would deem her powerless, she’s doing what she can to offer even the slightest relief.

Eliza loves Thursdays. She looks forward to them. Not only can she devote time to a worthy cause, but she gets to stay up late (8 pm, in this case) with her older siblings. Thursdays have become somewhat of an event in her household.

Her bedtime is actually 7 pm, but Thursdays are extra special.

“She usually goes to bed at 7 pm so it has become a thing for her, staying up late,” Eliza’s mom Natalie told the media.

Mother Natalie went on to tell Metro, “The first one we did, she dressed up as a nurse in Imogen’s costume from when she was little.”

Apparently, Eliza’s always loved dressing up. It’s a win-win across the board.

Eliza draws inspiration from her grandmother, Sharon France (Natalie’s mom), a working hospice nurse. Her costumes pay respect to Sharon and the entirety of the healthcare industry.

There’s a new costume every week. Here she is as a surgeon, sporting light blue scrubs:

The panda bear doll makes it even more precious. A stethoscope graphic rests upon her shoulders, adding a heightened sense of realism to the costume. It’s a wonderful design. Apparently, Eliza’s outfits are crafted with the help of Mom.

Eliza appears to be holding a small tambourine in her right hand to add to the Thursday gratitude.

Although she’s still a toddler, Eliza’s efforts have not gone unnoticed. She isn’t a skilled surgeon, nor can she count to a hundred (probably), but she is old enough to have a heart and share her empathy with those around her – and she’s doing a beautiful job.
