Music has been known to change people’s lives in more ways the one. It can touch a soul, stir warm memories, give purpose, and bring people together. One Voice Children’s Choir established a community that has enriched and changed the lives of over 100 children.

Through the unifying and uplifting gift of music, children of different ages were gathered together to form One Voice Children’s Choir.

One Voice Children’s Choir composes original songs and makes new arrangements to songs created by other artists. The song “I Can Only Imagine” by the American Contemporary Christian band, MercyMe was performed with a new arrangement done by the children in the video. Each child performing in the video has an amazing talent to share.

The video showcases the talents of eleven vocalists, twenty violinists, and three ballet dancers.

One Voice Children’s Choir’s vision states that, “Through music, they will inspire, enrich, uplift and serve their global community, while building youth as One Voice.”

To turn their vision into a reality the choir only creates and performs songs that are “value-oriented.” For them to be one family with one voice, the choir does not segregate its members into different age groups. Every member of the choir performs their own special part together with the rest to create one unified voice.

One Voice Children’s Choir has performed in over 125 countries, contended on America’s Got Talent, for President Obama, and even in Normandy beach during the D-Day commemoration.

This Utah based children’s choir is not only gifted, but they are also loved by many. They have an impressive fan base of more than 2.1 million followers and more than 336 million views on their YouTube channel. This particular video shows their stunning performance of the hit song and the music video was beautifully made by the members themselves.

Bart Millard, the lead vocalist of MercyMe, wrote “I Can Only Imagine”

“When my father passed in 1991, he left me with the assurance that he was headed to a better place. For several years following his death, I would find myself writing the phrase ‘I can only imagine’ on anything I could find. That simple phrase would give me a peace thinking about what my dad was finally experiencing,” Bart explains.

The song describes Bart’s imagining of what meeting Jesus for the first time would be like for him

The song became a number one hit in Christian music charts as well as Adult Contemporary and Top 40 radio, which is not a common achievement in the competitive music industry. The song was also developed into a movie of the same name with Golden Globe nominee, Dennis Quaid as its lead. The movie reveals Bart’s less-than-ideal childhood under the hands of his abusive father, and how his faith fuelled his dreams and sustained his sense of hope. There is also a father and son reconciliation depicted in the movie.

Thousands have been inspired and changed by the song “I Can Only Imagine.” Its message strikes right at the heart of many, especially those that are troubled or have wavered in their faith. There is something about the children’s voices that gives a whole new experience to the song’s moving lyrics. The song begins,

“I can only imagine what it will be like

When I walk, by your side

I can only imagine what my eyes will see

When you face is before me

I can only imagine”
