Chipotle shared their delicious guacamole recipe and it's insanely easy to make
Chipotle fans rejoice! The popular Mexican burrito chain is now giving its patrons a home advantage.
Any die-hard fan is well acquainted with their signature (and delicious) guacamole, and while it may always cost extra, it’s an undisputable addition to any order. Maybe you’re wondering just what makes it so delectable. And now, they’re offering the recipe so you can recreate it in your own kitchen.
This guacamole is revered and holds somewhat of a cult-like status, and while many have attempted to replicate it across the internet with copy-cat recipes, the chain’s culinary director took the plunge recently to share the exact recipe.
The creamy dip in all its glory is a surprisingly straightforward recipe.
Unlike those that have tried to crack the recipe previously, adding in ingredients like tomatoes and garlic, you only need six fresh ingredients. All you need are avocados, limes, cilantro, red onion, jalapeno, and kosher salt.
The executive chef for Chipotle, Chad Brauze, posted a video on the restaurant’s Instagram, sharing the chain’s guacamole and breaking down the method step by step.
Fans will be delighted to know this one is a walk in the park! The chef’s demonstration will compel you to get in the kitchen. The recipe is simple, fresh, and irresistible.
A pro-tip takeaway from the demonstration video? Chef Brauze uses a large metal whisk to break up the avocados instead of a spoon or a fork.
This yields an extra-smooth consistency but still leaves room for a few savory chunks.
This isn’t the first time Chipotle has revealed their guacamole recipe. In 2015 they shared the how-to across their website, and nothing has changed! But this is the first time they’ve shared a video so aspiring cooks can follow along at home.
Chipotle is following a recent trend of restaurants sharing their beloved recipes while many of us are participating in isolation at home.
Many celebrities and chefs have taken to social media while everyone is cooking at home during the quarantine. Also recently, Ikea shared a recipe for their famed Swedish Meatballs, and Disney has been releasing recipes for fan-favorites, such as their Dole Whip.
In addition to their signature guacamole, Chef Brauze has also shared the recipes for some of the chain’s newest dips like the Superfood Guacamole, the Extra-est Guacamole, and Guacamole Ranch.
The 26-minute demonstration gives us exactly the comfort and insight we need right now. Brauze sets us up for success:
“I’m gonna teach you guys how to make some awesome Chipotle guacamole just like we make it in the restaurant…I guarantee you it’s the same recipe, same style, same technique.”
