Woman figures out the 'right' way to close cereal boxes and it's simply genius

Breakfast is many things to many people. Some argue its importance, while others usually skip it altogether! One thing is a breakfast staple, however, that may even break the bounds of breakfast itself! Cereal can be eaten as a morning food, dessert, or late night snack! There is something special about the place cereal holds in our hearts.

One thing is certain. People are loyal to their favorite cereals.

Much like sports teams and car brands, people pick a favorite and stick to it. With the wide selection of cereals out there, people have such a variety to choose from! One thing is certain, however. We have all been eating cereal wrong!

Stale cereal is a travesty.

One of the worst things is when you go to pour some cereal and realize someone left the bag a bit too unfurled, letting air into the cereal. When you pour, you know there is a problem. Your once wonderfully crispy Raisin Bran Crunch has lost its crunch.

Did you know we have been eating cereal wrong all these years?

Cereal goes stale from air getting inside the box and bag. One viral trend shows us that we have been closing our cereal boxes wrong for years now! If you are like me, the results will blow you away. I always just pushed the little flab into the other side and tossed the box back in the cabinet!

Becky from the UK discovered this trick.

Making a video, she explains the simple process on Facebook.

She posted a video to lay out the step for folding the box! After following it once or twice, it is really easy to get the hang of.

Take your open box

After you get a fresh box, open it and pour your cereal. There isn’t much news with this step (unless you pour your milk in first).

Fold in the two side flaps

Fold the shorter flaps on the side in towards the center of the box.

Fold the jagged edge in.

Take the side without the hole/slit cut in it. It may have jagged edges like this one.

Crimp the edges in.

Crimping the edges holds the sides and jagged flap in place.

Lift up and crimp into place with the slotted side still on top.

Slide the last flap into the box.

This is the final step to hold everything in place.

Enjoy your sealed cereal box!

After this simple 15 second hack, you now have a sealed and better-looking cereal box! Who knew!

The hack has blown up on the internet.

This is one of those hacks that aren’t “gimmicky” and will probably work for you. That is probably what let it get over 3 million views already!

Becky probably never expected to have such a positive result!

I guess cereal is just one of those things that crosses cultural and physical boundaries!
