In a world full of disparity, struggle, and pain, there is one force that drives many people. Many would find themselves drowning in confusion if it were not for the wisdom of on individual. They believe that there is someone superior to everyone, one who they trust to bring order.

Faith is what drives many people and Christ is the reason for that faith.

Whoever you are and wherever you are currently, we always have certain motives that drive us or targets we chase. People reason with the world around them differently.

Some think with their brains and believe only what they know, while others think with their hearts and believe in the unknown.

If you believe in God, you’ll look for him everywhere.

Alfredo Lo Brutto was so enraptured by the sight that he decided to do something he doesn’t normally do—post pictures on Facebook.

“I was enchanted by the view. I don’t often share pictures on social media, but when I took this one, I instantly felt like I wanted other people to see it, because it was so beautiful” Alfredo Lo Brutto.

Alfredo and many people see this as a reflection of Christ the Redeemer.

People all over the internet believe the picture resembles Christ the Redeemer statue.

The statue is located on Corcovado mountain in Rio De Janeiro, Brazil. It has been a symbol of protection, virtue, and guidance. It has a significant cultural value for Brazilians and people who believe in Christ.

The statue is indeed an exemplary specimen of craftsmanship. It is among the new 7 wonders of the world. But the picture which Alfredo clicked, was it really Christ The Redeemer?

Maybe or maybe not.

The definition of truth is different for many, especially when the talk is about something as divisive as this. If you go by the way of science, it is nothing more than an optical illusion, or just a case of lighting and reflections.

Nature is quite complex and often very fascinating.

Take the case of the Northern Lights. If you’ve ever seen it live, you’ll probably feel you’re on a different planet. Is it because God has neon green lights installed in the sky? Or is God trying to tell us that green is his favorite color? Not really.

According to Northern Light Center:

The Northern Lights are actually the result of collisions between gaseous particles in the Earth’s atmosphere with charged particles released from the sun’s atmosphere.

The image that seemed like Christ The Redeemer could have a similar science behind it.

We have seen plenty of lights such as Rainbow that give us the very same enchanting feel. The way sun rays hit the clouds and the sea might have resulted in the reflection. It can also be an optical illusion like the video posted by InformOverload mentions.

The video states it’s nothing more than pareidolia.

Pareidolia is basically you thinking something is what you think it is and not what it actually is.

According to Wikipedia:

Pareidolia is the tendency for perception to impose a meaningful interpretation on a nebulous visual stimulus.

Like when you look into the eye of a statue and move around, although the eye is static, you feel like it is following you. Your mind is creating an image that is not true but just a misinterpretation. The image that was shared by Alfredo could be any type of optical illusion.

Regardless of what others feel about this, you’re free to have your own opinion. What you make of the clouds doesn’t hurt anyone, but if thinking of it as a sign of Christ fills you with joy, go ahead and do so.
