Take a drill team, cheerleading team, jazz, hip-hop and a lot of high energy and you’ve got yourself a modern-day kickline team.

Unique in its own style, kickline takes the best mashup of all worlds and incorporates some incredibly high kicks to boot. This style is most reminiscent of the Radio City Rockettes.

The Radio City Rockettes are by far the most famous kickline team. Their outfit is noted for spectacular synchronized kicks punctuated by gracefully long legs.

They were founded in 1925 in St Louis and have been performing at Radio City Music Hall in New York since 1932.

But move aside, Rockettes! The girls at Sanford H. Calhoun Highschool of Merrick, New York have something to share! This award-winning group of girls is dedicated, talented, and sure to entertain.

Their outfit is known as the Calhoun Colts Varsity Kickline and they’re here to prove that together they’re a force.

The Colts Kickline team is made up of 24 girls, who won second place in a 2013 competition for their stunning routine. Their performance video is truly something to behold!

Carefully choreographed, the girls’ routine consists of moves that perfectly match the beat of their selected music.

At the beginning of their act, the 24 girls march out in front of the judge in four perfect lines, completely exuding confidence.

The hard work and practice that goes into an act like this definitely shows.

As the music begins, the girls move perfectly in sync – what a sight to see!

As the girls move through the routine, their dedication is obvious. The choreography is upbeat, fun, and practiced perfectly. Drawing from cheerleading, the kickline team accents their act with pom-poms. Each girl holds a silver and blue pom, creating a wonderful visual display.

Shaking their pom-poms to the beat, the girls dance all around the court and create a generous stage-presence. They jump, twist, and turn to the driving beat, even showing elements of ballet with pirouettes!

No sooner do the girls gather around in a circle and lay down on the floor, moving about in a synchronized swimming type of move.

The crowd in the auditorium goes wild for them as they fill the room with cheers and claps.

Viewers of the video shared the shock and amazement of the routine.

They generously voiced their appreciation of the show.

“That was INTENSE! Great job!”

The dedication the girls put into the routine was loved by all.

“Their sharpness was great and the way they switched poms was so smooth.”

As the routine comes to an end, the crowd cheers in an incredible roar, echoing across the auditorium.

The girls’ flawless performance earned them second place in the competition, but they’ve also been known to steal first – how are we not surprised!

The girls continue to assemble and support their highschool team, performing for games, pep rallies, and homecoming.
