Cop crashes students on the dance floor with moves that steal the show

Saying “goodbye” to someone, especially to the people you love, is probably one of the hardest things to do.

But don’t falter.

Just like most people say, “goodbyes are not forever,” and a goodbye doesn’t always need to be sad, does it?

Take Officer Ryan Tillman as an example.

He was once a proud school resource officer at Don Lugo High School in California.

His love for his job, the school, and the students was unquestionable.

However, there came “a huge blessing” that was just too hard to not grab.

Officer Tillman received a promotion.

Not just any promotion, but one to become a Chino Police Corporal.

To be promoted was indeed a piece of great news, but that also meant him leaving the school.

He knew that one way or the other, he had to tell the bitter-sweet news to the school and to the students.

But instead of breaking the news in a sad way, Officer Tillman came up with a bright idea.

They could dance the night away.

He rolled out his plan by seeking help from the school’s principal and the school’s dance team.

With their help, Officer Tillman was able to plan a secret dance performance in front of the students inside the gymnasium.

“I wanted to go out with a bang so I was like what better way to go out than with doing a dance,” Officer Tillman told NBC LA.

The officer’s much-awaited performance took place during an assembly at Don Lugo High School in front of hundreds of students.

Ready for this?

In the viral video, Officer Tillman can be seen together with a group of student dancers preparing in the middle of the gym.

As soon as the lively beat starts running loud through the humongous speakers, Officer Tillman and his “crew” spring into action.

Doubt not his dancing skills because he can absolutely slay under that spotlight.

He unhesitatingly dances with all that swag and he is killing every move while donning his police uniform, how about that?

The students couldn’t help but have fun with the dance performance and ultimately, appreciate Officer Tillman’s efforts for them even for the last time.

When the video of his performance was uploaded on YouTube, one fellow SRO minced quite a few words about Officer Tillman.

He had a lot to say.

“Congrats on the well deserved promotion. I am also a SRO but I could NEVER get up there in front staff and students and dance. Hell no! But good on your for doing it. Most ppl don’t understand the balance of the relationships SRO’s have with young ppl at their schools. We can’t act like “traditional” cops all the time and have to build rapport anyway we can because we wear so many different hats. If dancing with students build bridges then so be it. Stay safe out there.”

“Lip Gloss”, “U Can’t Touch This,” and “Crank That.”

A mix of swaggy music, a group of talented student dancers, and a kindhearted officer – all in one amazing performance.

Although it might be the last time he would be seeing the students of Don Lugo High School, Officer Tillman managed to pull off such a farewell surprise to everyone.

Apart from showing his appreciation, he said he also wanted to “shine a positive light” on police officers, reported NBC LA.

It could be a goodbye, but it’s one happy goodbye that the students and Officer Tillman would never forget.
