Kind officer helps cat waiting on doorstep in the rain

Have you heard of The Chief Mouse Catcher of 10 Downing Street?

That’s Larry, the cat who has been living in the said house for 11 years, and the only cat who was given the prestigious title by none other than the Prime Minister of England at the time.

It was in 2011 and this famous cat was in a rescue shelter where he got adopted by Prime Minister David Cameron who probably saw that they had a lot of mice in their residence back then.

Thanks to Larry’s presence, the notorious mice were kept from reigning in the place and we now have the one and only Chief Mouse Catcher of 10 Downing Street.

Apparently, this cat is not exactly the feline fatale they were all expecting.

Larry had another nickname aside from his prestigious title. He is also known as “Lazy Larry” and that’s because he simply wanted to rest and relax all day.

What happened to catching all the mice in the famous residence where he is now a part of?

And Larry never left 10 Downing Street, even after the Prime Minister left and a new one came to live in the house.

Eleven years after when he was adopted, Larry stayed strong and loyal. Everybody just loves him to bits!

He would go around the property and just charm the people he meets. He sure is a celebrity in his own right.

If Larry had “lazy” attached to his name, it is a question of whether he ever really caught a mouse.

The truth is that Larry really did catch his own share of mice in the residence.

He was reigning supreme until another cat was welcomed into the Prime Minister’s home, and he had found his partner when it comes to making sure the place is a mice-free area.

Larry loves to wander and just enjoy the beautiful weather and scenery.

People in the Prime Minister’s residence are used to seeing him doing his own “patrol” which is a combination of looking out for mice and just being a loveable furry feline that makes everyone smile.

Some people find joy and petting him, or simply interacting with him. What a celebrity!

Larry seems to be having such a beautiful life, but there is only one thing that gives him stress from time to time.

Apparently, the main entrance does not have a cat door and when it rains, Larry has to wait for a human to actually open the door for him to get inside.

The Chief Mouse Catcher of 10 Downing Street absolutely hates getting rained on, and this can be very stressful for him.

One particular day, this scenario unfolded again and Larry is already getting agitated as it happens.

It was a good thing that an officer was around to save Larry’s day.

He saw that Larry was patiently waiting, and also realized that the cat was getting rained on.

He immediately did something to help Larry. The officer on duty knocked on the main entrance so someone inside can open it and for the cat to make his way inside the house.

It worked! The door was opened and Larry made his way through. What a kind officer!

Larry is now 15 years old and is not as good a hunter as he used to be.
