Deputy participates in hilarious dance challenge craze and proves he's no ordinary cop
It is quite hard to believe that fun policemen exist out there. I mean, their whole job is to make sure people abide by the law. They aren’t out here to make friends or have parties — they are here to keep everything in line and make sure no bad stuff goes down. When we see cops, we just do our best to stay in our lane and not get arrested!
But what if we told you fun cops do exist?
Well, we are here to tell you that that is the truth. They exist and we have proof.
This is Deputy Estrada and he wants you to know that he is here to have a good time (just for a little bit, then he has to get back to his serious job).
Deputy Estrada decided to film himself doing the Git Up challenge, which for those who don’t know, is the latest viral challenge which is inspired by Blanco Brown’s song “The Get Up.” Since the song was released, thousands of people on the Internet posted videos of them attempting the dance moves. It’s kind of like other viral dance trends like flossing or the Fortnite dance.
So Deputy Estrada, who is of the Bexar County Police Department in Texas, was one of the latest people to indulge in the challenge. It seems to take place in an empty parking lot of some sorts. His cop car is parke horizontally as he enters in front of it in his police uniform. For the song, he even throws on a cowboy hat for a very on-brand prop.
When he first starts out, he leads some viewers to think he is about to start break dancing. The poses he whips out with his arms are filled with sass and a little bit of a “throwback” energy.
He surprisingly shows that he has a lot of swag — I mean, for a police officer at least. You would think he’d be good at car chases, stand-offs, and giving tickets. But dancing? Now that is a new concept we never thought could exist.
Deputy Estrada makes sure that this dance is far from boring. He doesn’t just stick to the typical cowboy moves that you would expect in a Git Up Challenge, he experiments with other styles and truly does not hold back.
It matches the style of the song.
It matches the song too! Because Blanco Brown’s “The Get Up” is most definitely a country song, but it is more than just that. It even has a bit of a hip-hop flare to it with updated drum sounds and a whole lot of bass.
When Brown sings his dance instructions (“Take it to the left now and dip with it / Go’n throw down, take a sip with it / Now lean back, put your hips in it”), Deputy Estrada, being the cop he is, follows along and abides.
While also wearing colorful red sunglasses, he shows his silly side and puts his heart and soul into it.
It’s obvious that he truly letting go and having a fun time and we love to see it!
