Cop stops woman and makes her pop the trunk but has no idea that she’s filming the whole thing

Chy-Niece Thacker, a young woman from Virginia, described an amazing encounter with a policeman who is an example of the true meaning behind the saying “to serve and protect.”

In 2017, Thacker was on her way to an interview when she saw a police car signaling her to pull over.

What happened next was utterly heartwarming.

In recent months and years, encounters with police officers have gone viral for all the wrong reasons, and Chy-Niece’s story reminds us that police officers are true heroes. Every day, thousands of policemen and women worldwide work to protect us. Members of law enforcement often take risks, and sometimes they even fall as victims.

Keep reading to see what happened after Thacker pulled was over.

Thacker stopped the car and prepared her driving license and registration.

Most people are nervous at the thought of being pulled over and having to interact with the officer. The outcome is expected: you’re either going to get a talking-to or a ticket. However, the kind officer who stopped Thacker was worried for her safety.

“Don’t worry about pulling anything out,” he said.

“I just want you to know that your brake lights are out.”

The police officer’s name is Officer Billy Jenkins, and he’s a member of the Henrico County Police.

Thacker was visibly upset because she had replaced those lights a month ago.

When Chy-Niece then told that to Officer Jenkins, his reaction stunned her.

No, the policeman didn’t tell Thacker to get those lights fixed. He didn’t give her a ticket either. After the stressed-out girl explained to Officer Jenkins that Firestone wants to charge $600 for a simple wiring test on the car, the officer asked her to pop the trunk.

Believe it or not, Mr. Jenkins had every intention to fix Thacker’s car and save her all the money.

Touched by what was going on, Thacker took out her phone and filmed the officer who turned into a skillful mechanic on the spot.

Officer Jenkins first checked the lights in the back and tapped them. After that didn’t work out, he checked the relay box.

Amazingly, the police officer didn’t want to give up. He checked everything until he found what was wrong with the car. Thacker had to share the phenomenal story on her Facebook account, and it soon went viral.

Her post about a kind-hearted cop was shared hundreds of times, and more than half a million people liked the story. Eventually, Henrico County Police heard what had happened, and they also shared this story on Facebook.

In an interview with Magellan Times, a couple of his colleagues revealed that Officer Jenkins had briefly studied mechanics, and that’s why he knew exactly what to do with Thacker’s vehicle issues.

That’s not all. After Thacker posted the story on Facebook, another woman commented that Officer Jenkins did a similar thing for her.

The lady also added that Jenkins was kind and willing to help. Doesn’t it feel great to read such a joyful story about people ready to help each other in any circumstances?

Thank you, Officer Jenkins. You give cops a good name. We’re proud to have you, and your community is more than blessed. Just like Thacker said, this is the kind of experience a person doesn’t forget. Officer Jenkins has taught us a few basic rules about being compassionate and giving. Drive safe, Thacker. We wish you both the best of luck.
