The wreck took place this past May 7th, in Gloucester Country, Virginia, when Deputy Jon Holt was on duty and saw a car spin out. When he pulled up to the scene, he could see an overturned vehicle with a young man standing outside of it begging for help. The officer sprinted as fast as he could to get to the car, where he saw something horrific.

“She’s stuck under the car,” the young man frantically screams.

When Deputy Holt reached the car, a young kid was inside the vehicle trying to help his mother whose head was pinned underneath

What the officer saw when he got up to the overturned car was heartbreaking and terrifying. Not only was the woman’s head trapped underneath the vehicle, but her young child was also crouched inside screaming for someone to help.

“She can’t breathe, she can’t breathe, please help, help, mommy,” yells the child.

With backup still minutes away, Deputy Holt has no choice but to try and lift the vehicle off of the woman by himself

Deputy Holt instructs the frantic boy to get out of the car in case it catches fire, then, he does something remarkable.

His body cam goes black as he presses his body against the overturned vehicle, and you can hear him grunting as he uses every bit of strength he has to try and lift the car off of the mother’s head.

The heroic cop is able to lift the car just enough for the woman to get her head out, saving her life

You can’t see the lifting going on, but you can hear the officer struggling with all his might before you finally hear sounds from the pinned woman for the first time.

“Can you slide any ma’am? Is your head clear?” Deputy Holt says as he lifts the car.

What makes this even more incredible, is that this isn’t the first time Deputy Holt has been recognized for saving lives

Deputy Holt had just received Top Cop Awards back in February, for other heroic actions. The Facebook post explains:

“As many know, Deputy J. Holt recently accepted both the local and regional Top Cop Awards from the Greater Hampton Roads Regional Crime Line on February 2, 2021 for his commitment to public safety after saving the lives of 2 individuals from a burning house on the afternoon of March 24, 2020.”

These are the types of body cam videos that make you really appreciate the police, and to think Deputy Jon Holt has done stuff like this before is just amazing.
