Three cops bring the moves in newest dance challenge

The Git Up Challenge.

It’s taking the internet by storm, and the challenge is surfacing across social media as the next viral dance move.

The dance is inspired by Blanco Brown’s line-dancing hip-hop song, “The Git Up”. The musician posted a video on YouTube outlining the song’s dance moves, and ever since millions of people have responded by uploading their own versions of the dance. The challenge itself has over 29 million views on TikTok.

We know our local police force to be servants and protectors of our community, but why not let loose every once in a while?

The Clay county officers accepted the Git Up challenge and proved that community is everywhere, especially in their dance moves.

Donning water bottles in the heat of the sun, the officers used them as a perfect prop while playing out the moves to the lyrics of the song:

“Take it to the left now and dip with it
Gon’ throw down, take a sip with it
Now lean back put your hips in it (it’s simple, you can do it)”

You can tell that the officers put a lot of time into creating the fun video.

They even teased the public that a video might be coming, and much to the public’s delight, they released the video the following day.

The video features three of the department’s best contenders. They take off their sheriff’s hats and replace them with cowboy hats. They then proceed to dance it out in front of their squad cars. The video gives each one of the three officers a chance in the spotlight.

When they’ve made their statement, they politely tip their hats to the camera before turning away to return to the community.
