Corgi approaches man in airport and immediately knows he needs comforting snuggles

Cora the corgi didn’t have it easy.

She had given birth to over 15 litters in one of those horrible backyard breeding situations. Her uncaring owners let her go when her last litter only gave them one pup.

Cora had multiple health issues as a result.

Before her eighth birthday, Cora was taken from that horrible home. And at an animal rescue in Idaho, she met Madison Palm.

Madison’s initial plan was to foster Cora, but she formed an attachment with the corgi so she officially adopted the dog before Cora’s 8th birthday,

Cora finally got her first birthday cake!

Madison wanted to give Cora the best life possible. The dog surprised Madison with how sweet she was, considering the life she’s been through.

Cora loves cuddling and seemed to know when someone needed comforting. It was this unique ability that had Madison thinking of training her as a therapy dog.

β€œCora’s personality is so amazing; she is a lover,” she told The Dodo. β€œShe is always right next to me and always keeps a close eye if she’s not. If I’m not available she’ll pick the next closest lap to sit on and nudges your hand unless you are petting her at all times.”

So in February 2018, Madison took Cora along on a trip to Alaska to visit her mom.At a Seattle airport for their layover, the corgi proceeded to amaze her human.

Cora was allowed to stretch her legs for a bit. Madison held the leash for awhile until the dog fell asleep. Madison then got up to get a snack knowing Cora wouldn’t go anywhere.

But when Cora opened her eyes, she went to a man sitting on a chair nearby. He was alone so Madison asked him if Cora was bothering him.

The man’s reply warmed her heart.

β€œNo, no; I lost my dog last night,” the man replied emotionally.

The man scratched Cora’s ears, who just stayed there letting him give her his love.

Madison posted the touching moment on a Facebook group.

β€œShe knows who is hurting and she knows who needs her. I’ve never questioned that,” her owner said. β€œI am blown away by her on a daily basis. Who knew a dog who was unloved for seven and a half years could have so much love to give?”

Cora had a big heart and she showed the world that her small body, though abused in the past, still chose love.

Seeing the dog show it to a stranger in an airport had Madison appreciating the corgi even more.

Cora didn’t really know love growing up and yet she knew how to give it to someone who needed affection.

Madison created an Instagram page for Cora so the world could see just what an amazing dog the corgi was. Cora has so much love that the world needs to see her.
