Trending dance steps often come and go as quickly as they went viral.

Some, however, stand the test of time as they are dashing and fancy, even through the years.

Meet Nils and Bianca.

These two are staples on the swing scene. The talented dancers are instructors from Sweden.

Even if one can trace the origins of swing back to the United States, its popularity has indeed gone to other parts of the world.

Characterized mainly by snappy steps and wide movements, swing came about when the United States was swept by jazz during the 30s all the way to the 40s.

The instructors began their careers early.

According to their website, both of them have a passion for Lindy Hop and Boogie Woogie.

While they started dancing even as kids, they only met and became each other’s partners when Bianca moved to Sweden when she was sixteen.

Their teaching careers started soon after. They’ve also competed across the globe and performed in various festivals.

In this video, Nils and Bianca swept people off their feet with their showcase.

The video was taken at the Rock That Swing Festival, an event attended by swing enthusiasts from around the world.

Fans got what they came for.

The festival has a live jazz band to make everyone feel that they were dancing as if they were back in the 1930s.

They dressed the part to a T.

To take it up a notch, Nils and Bianca, together with the other participants were dressed up in their best 30s outfits.

That means waist-high trousers, head bows, short ties, and flashy two-tone brogues.

They’re extraordinarily lively and upbeat.

Swing has always been energetic and coordinated, but the couple made the entire routine look easier than how it actually was.

They spun and leaped in rhythm.

One can get easily out of breath just by watching them but the couple just seemed to get more energized the more they danced.

With their impeccable moves, we get to see a glimpse of how people socialized and enjoyed their free time before the Second World War.

Booming brass music in jazz halls definitely makes for a lively ambiance, and it might be the reason why swing is so electrifying.

People were enchanted by the showmanship.

“You two are wonderful!” said one comment, “They had the best moves in dancing back when! They raved at John Travolta’s moves & they can’t even compare to real dancing like what we saw here!”

“Sometimes looks like they are not touching the floor with their feet. I can’t get enough of these two!” another one said.

“I adore watching these two.” Shared another, “Such joy, fun and imagination – not to mention SHEDLOADS of skill and stamina! Truly amazing!”
