Bride spins right out of her wedding dress as couple gets crazy during their first dance
When newlyweds Ben and Laura were introduced as Mr. and Mrs. at their wedding before their first dance, their wedding guests looked like most – ready for it to be over.
These dances can be cute – and we’ve seen more than our fair share of exciting, choreographed routines – but most guests just want to get on to the party themselves. It’s not all that exciting to watch two people slow dance.
But we’re assured from the very beginning that this is going to be the most exciting part of the wedding, so that was enough to pique our interest.
The emcee announces that their song is going to be Elvis Presley’s version of the classic “The Wonder of You.”
As the happy couple takes the floor, this looks like it’s going to be your typical slow dance.
But the song we hear is actually Elvis’ “Can’t Help Falling In Love” – we’re confused but we’ll go with it.
And we have to admit, for the first minute and a half, Ben and Laura look like they’re at an awkward middle school dance. Sure, there’s a sweet kiss, but otherwise it’s just your average rocking back-and-forth couple’s dance.
But suddenly some new music comes on and heats things up a bit – in fact, they’re so warm Ben takes off his jacket!
Laura doesn’t look like she knows quite what’s going on at this point, but soon it becomes clear that the couple had planned a much better show all along!
The next song to come on is one you’ll recognize but perhaps not know the name of – it’s “Sing, Sing, Sing” by Benny Goodman.
Now things are getting loose – including the bride’s skirt!
As the duo bops back and forth together, all of a sudden Ben spins Laura out to his left and the bottom half of her dress stays behind!
HERE’S the dance we were waiting to see!
As he tosses the skirt away, the two bust out their best big band choreography – and they’ve clearly been practicing their swing dancing.
The audience can’t hold it together. Hoots ring out from around the room as the performance does a complete 180 and everyone is thrilled by the surprise.
And these two are good – they even manage to execute a lift that doesn’t come easily!
Now we wonder if they might actually be dancers and their friends and family were very confused about the first part of their dance when they seemed to be phoning it in.
We’re impressed – there’s no way viewers would have expected this fancy footwork after watching the first part of the video.
Laura has one slight shoe malfunction, but the two get right back into the swing of things without missing more than a beat.
They even break out some alternative moves that we don’t think are part of your typical swing repertoire, but who knows?! It looks more like interpretive dance at this point – but it’s all in good fun.
The newlyweds manage to execute two more impressive lifts and with about a minute to go and we’re tired just watching them!
We sure hope guests weren’t too eager to get out on the dance floor themselves, because after this showing they had an awful lot to live up to!

The good stuff starts just after 1:30.
