Couple flies with newborn baby not expecting flight crew to get on intercom about it

Traveling by plane with a baby in tow is not for the weak.

Parents have shared pleasant and not-so-nice stories of their experiences flying with their little ones, and they’re always met with mixed reactions.

Some people immediately sympathize with the parents, assuring them that when their little ones get fussy, it’s completely normal and shouldn’t be something to stress about.

Some are pretty vocal about the inconvenience this brings to other passengers.

Some appreciate quiet flights and find incessant crying to be quite irritating.

The real heroes in these stories aren’t just the parents who stick it out and do their best to survive the flight.

It’s the flight attendants who go above and beyond, too.

They’re not “just doing their jobs.” They’re extending compassion to exhausted parents who don’t intend to disrupt the peace other passengers intend to enjoy.

Southwest Airlines must have some pretty great training programs because apart from being known for their fun and quirky announcements, they’ve also got some delightful tricks up their sleeves.

Caren and Dustin Moore were over the moon when they boarded the plane with their newly adopted daughter.

After nine long years of struggling to conceive, they finally had their bundle of joy.

While carrying four large bags, Dustin kept apologizing to the passengers as he passed them on their way to their seats.

When they finally got settled, their 8-day-old baby started to become fussy.

In need of more space for a diaper change, Dustin sought the help of one of the flight attendants named Jenny who immediately showed them to the back of the plane where they could change their baby’s diaper in privacy.

Dustin recalls how warm everyone was.

“After a change, another passenger complimented my beautiful daughter and politely asked what had prompted a flight with such a young infant. I gave them the shortened adoption story, to which they hastily offered congratulations and shared a few more kind remarks.”

Moments later, Bobby, another flight attendant, approached the couple and began to ask them a few more questions.

The couple didn’t mind, but they were curious about everyone’s sudden interest in the adoption story. What happened next took them by surprise.

They suddenly heard Bobby’s voice on speaker, announcing a special guest on the flight.

“She’s just been adopted by her parents, Caren and Dustin, and is making her way home.”

Everyone on board started cheering and clapping. From worrying about a fussy baby disgruntling other passengers to randomly being celebrated on the flight, everything turned out perfectly.

The flight attendants began distributing pens and napkins to the passengers, encouraging them to write helpful advice for the new parents.

Once the crew had all the napkins back, they read a few good ones over the intercom.

It was beautiful to hear so many kind and helpful words from strangers.

The flight didn’t turn out as challenging as the couple imagined.

It was like an impromptu baby shower that filled Caren and Dustin with hope and joy.

They loved hearing everyone’s advice, and they were overwhelmed by the constant congratulations extended by the other passengers.

As for the brilliant crew members behind the idea? It turns out they’re married!

Jenny and Bobby had experienced a similar outpouring of love on their honeymoon, and they wanted to pay it forward by making another couple happy.

They took the opportunity and made complete strangers happy during such a turning point in their lives.

It was one for the books and the best way to celebrate the homecoming of Caren and Dustin’s little one.
