For those who do not know, these two individuals were dance champions. And if ever you needed to be reminded of their achievements in the past, then lend your ears to the event MC.

Before this dance couple even started their performance, the MC introduced them first while listing off the achievements and awards that they have individually bagged through the years.

Now we know that two dance champions are about to perform in front of our very own eyes.

You can already feel greatness just by looking at them. Jeremy Webb and Kalin Ellis flaunted their award-winning talent in this shag dance.

They sure made a fearsome foe in every dance competition that they joined during their prime as shag dancers.

Jeremy Webb is a professional dancer and instructor who specializes in his home state’s official dance, the Carolina Shag.

He’s top-notch when it comes to it – in fact, he has already won lots of shag dance titles over the past years.

As told by the MC, he’s got nothing more to prove of his dancing prowess, as his awards and achievements already say it all.

He also shared on his LinkedIn account why he loves shag so much:

“Shag has always been a brightness in my life and I am bringing the Carolina Shag experience to everyone so they may see and feel the joy the shag dance and shag music brings me everyday.”

Jeremy’s equally-talented partner was Kalin Ellis. She’s also an award-winning dancer with numerous achievements in shag dancing.

Kalin and Jeremy won First Place at the US Non-Professional held yearly in Myrtle Beach, South Carolina.

She’s indeed a multi-tasker because she was able to compete on a number of dance competitions while attending nursing school. The best part of all these was that she’s already graduated, it simply showed the kind of person she was. Juggling her dancing career and school was quite a task to accomplish.

Shag historian Phil Sawyer described the Carolina Shag in his book “Save The Last Dance For Me” as,

“A cold beer on a warm night with a hot date and no plans for tomorrow.”

According to Southern Living, this popular state dance was born along the beaches of South Carolina in the 1940s.

“It should generally feel and look as if the partners are mirroring each other’s movements, completely in sync. The man leads with his left foot, the woman follows suit with her right foot, and so on. In the basic form, each partner is doing the same step, but with the opposite foot. Once you get more experienced, you’re able to have more fun with it and try faster, more complicated steps.”

The record then started spinning and so they once again proved that they are worthy of the name “champions”. They both floored their audience with their captivating moves and fed their eyes with nothing but show-stopping performance.

There’s nothing more that we could ask from this duo, they displayed a high-caliber series of movements, leaving the crowd amazed and smiling from ear to ear.

Not to mention their out-of-this-world fancy footwork.

It almost looked like their toes were battery-operated. An entertained YouTuber even commented:

“Wow! There’s a show just watching their feet alone.”

There was even a part of their performance when Jeremy did an out-of-this-world move. He crossed his legs and slid half-way down the floor! And for the record, yes, he’s human!

The Capital City Shag Club holds an annual Shag Extravaganza in Columbia, South Carolina.

They have so much love for shag dance that the good folks of the state fuel it even more. Jeremy and Kalin are regulars on the dance floor at the yearly Shag Extravaganza, where they won the National Champion title.

They grooved to Little Richard’s “True Fine Mama”.

The song was from Little Richard’s debut album titled “Here’s Little Richard.” He was an influential figure in pop music and culture for seven decades.

Because of this, he was called a couple of nicknames like “The Innovator,” “The Originator,” and “The Architect of Rock and Roll.”
