Couple’s red-hot dancing earns them 1st place championship

Have you personally witnessed a couple dancing West Coast Swing? Or at least seen one in a video? Perhaps, some of us are already detached from this old type of dance.

Well, this is our chance to watch a power-duo and we are sure that you’re going to love it!

But first, more about West Coast Swing.

Just by going on the dance’s name itself, West Coast Swing originated in the West Coast part of the United States of America.

It was when Dean Collins arrived in Los Angeles area around 1937. He was an influential personality when it came to developing the style of swing dance as both a performer and teacher.

A documentary of swing dancing in Los Angeles was made by Laure Haile, an Arthur Murray National Dance Director. He called it “Western Swing” and it became popular in the West Coast throughout the 1940s and into the 1950s.

Unlike other types of dances with a choreographed series of steps, West Coast Swing is basically a partner-dance that often requires improvisation.

It is often characterized by an elastic look that results from its extension-compression technique of partner connection and is danced primarily in a slotted area on the dance floor.

Jazz, blues, and country musicians incorporated swing in their music and this is how West Coast Swing is danced up to this generation.

Jordan and Larisa are two of the best dancers of West Coast Swing.

They are regulars when it comes to dancing competitions and championships. Normally, they would usually stick to their dance partners, but it just so happened that they were destined to be partners on that day.

A YouTube video of their performance was posted by Larisa Tingle herself.

It was the 4th of July (2018) Phoenix West Coast Swing Dance Competition when they hit the floor with their sizzling performance.

In the same video, Larisa randomly picked a dance partner, and luckily, it was Jordan. Fate worked amazingly that day, bagging them 1st place!

Jordan Frisbee was born in Los Angeles and started dancing when he was just 11 years old. It all started when a beautiful girl asked him if he knew how to dance West Coast Swing.

That pretty girl was Olivia Dasso who later became his first dance partner.

He also became a dance partner of Jessica Cox for three successful years. Later on, in the year 2000, he met Tatiana Mollmann and found a new partner in her. Jordan and Tatiana are still dance partners up to this day.

Moreover, he also appeared in Jerry Maguire, The Wedding Singer, Space Jam, Party of Five, and Baywatch, and some principal parts in Toy Story and Walgreen’s commercials.

Let’s now meet Larisa.

She is now a champion level competitor and at the same time a dance teacher.

She teaches dance classes that vary from beginners to advanced on a weekly basis. With all these credentials, there’s no room for doubt regarding their dancing prowess.

We all know now who Jordan and Larisa are, so let us now witness their greatness.
