A cow named Flo showed why mothers have the most crucial role in their children’s lives. Be it in the human or animal world, Mother Nature has programmed moms to care for their kiddos restlessly and to sense when things are not alright. Not to mention mothers’ eagerness to help their kids at any cost.

On a scorching spring day in 2018, a beautiful cow, Flo, gave birth to her baby on a farm in Millbrook, Ontario. The problem was that the calf somehow got stuck on the other side of the electric fence. Its umbilical cord was still hanging, and Flo’s baby would have died if a generous man didn’t stop to help.

Dave, a retired man from Canada, drove by the breathtaking greenery of a farm in Millbrook.

Because the scenery was magnificent, Dave stopped the car, got outside, and took the camera with him.

He planned to take a couple of lovely photos while enjoying the fresh air. There was also a beautiful little pond where cows laid around, cooling their bodies.

The paradise scene was tormented by one cow acting very strange.

It was clear that the cow was in some trouble. The cow wouldn’t move from the fence, and she kept scratching the ground and mooing at the man to get his attention.

Dave ignored the cow’s behavior for some time until he understood why she wouldn’t stop. When other cows gathered around Flo, Dave left the camera and rushed towards them to see what was going on.

And boy, did he see an uncommon event going on.

Flo had given birth, but her baby had somehow fallen over the fence. The calf was still hanging from its umbilical cord. It wasn’t moving nor making any sounds.

For a moment or two, Dave thought that the calf was dead. Being a mother, Flo knew a lot better, and she sensed that her baby was alive. Both the cow and the calf needed Dave’s help.

Dealing with the danger of being so close to an electrical fence, Dave tried to figure out how to help the calf

At first, the man was hesitant. He thought that the cow might attack him if he touched the calf.

When Dave realized that the cow was as eager as he was to save the baby, he courageously picked up the calf and got it over to the other side.

A mild electric shock was nothing compared to seeing the mother and her baby reunited.

Yes, Dave suffered a mild electric shock, but he made sure that Flo and the baby calf remain unharmed.

It was probably one of the most beautiful moments in Dave’s life. Imagine how proud he must have felt for saving a baby calf from certain death.

On his way home, Dave decided to pay the farm owners a short visit.

The idea was to say goodbye to Flo and her baby, although Dave wasn’t sure if they’d recognize him at all. As soon as he came closer, however, Flo knew who he was. She approached Dave, and the calf was by her side. We think that Flo’s wanted to express her gratitude towards the man who saved her baby.

Who knows what would have happened if Dave wasn’t around.
