Line dancing has been a popular form of dancing for many different groups across the centuries, it is actually said to have originated in the 1600s.

Most people, however, associate it with the fast beats and tempos of country music.

It has been popular in the country scene for decades but it was with a 2009 hit by Miley Cyrus, “Hoedown Throwdown”, that it became more mainstream.

Miley guides you through the dance with her lyrics and they are simple and easy to follow.

But if you are looking for something a little more challenging and intricate, David Villellas is the choreographer for you.

David has been a line dancing choreographer for over 10 years and he loves creating fun and interesting moves.

He has traveled around the world dancing, from America to England and France to Spain.

Everywhere he goes he brings with him a passion both for dancing and for teaching others how easy it can be to learn.

He showed off his moves, and became a YouTube dance star, when he was filmed at the 10-year anniversary of the OKIES Festival in Sauzé-Vaussais, France.

David and 5 of his friends danced their hearts out to the song “A Country Girl”.

Each stomp of the foot and shake of the hips fit perfectly with the up-tempo beat of the song and had the dancers moving the whole time.

All decked out in boots and hats, the 6 dancers looked the part as they spun around on the dancefloor.

The dance went through about 3 repetitions of the same moves, so if you can figure out how to get those moves down you’ll be able to dance along with them.

Because line dancing is done in groups, it is easy to check out what your partners and doing if you forget a step, and can therefore easily get back into it.

Dancing of all forms is a skill that needs to be worked on and practiced if you want to be great.

While line dancing may look easy, and it is once you know what you are doing, don’t lose patience when first learning; nobody does it perfectly on the first try.

Though with David as a guide and instructor, he wants to ensure you are enjoying yourself and not stressed out about messing up.

Line dancing is meant to be a fun activity to do with friends, something to get your blood pumping.

With the introduction of Zumba and Jazzercise, dancing as a workout has become much more popular, and line dancing is a great addition to that mix.

Fun, easy to sing along to the music, and the right group and instructors can make something that actually is quite a workout feel much more enjoyable.

Just remember that country music, and country line dancing, are all about the attitude!
