Everything happens for a reason.

You’ll never know when and how someone is going to make a huge impact on your life or vice versa. If you believe in coincidence then you should also believe as much in fate.

Just like when a mountain biker named Jarrett Little found a dog along his way, little did he know, he’s going to change the pooch’s life.

On one of his usual trips, Jarrett thought he was just going to enjoy a ride with his fellow cyclist enthusiasts. They were having some good pedals through the woods near Columbus, Georgia when the young man spotted a then 5-month-old male Great Dane mix puppy.

The poor pup was in pretty bad shape, its skin was covered with road rash, and his ribs were also showing up, adding to the baby dog’s miserable condition was his broken hind leg and paw. It looked like the badly injured puppy was a victim of a hit-and-run.

“We stopped to regroup and he came out of the woods to greet us. He was really thin, ribs showing, and had a lot of road rash and a broken leg,” Jarrett told CBS News.

Needless to say, the puppy was in dire need of help and Jarrett was not going anywhere until he knew the pooch was going to be safe.

Jarrett and his group felt the need to help the poor pup that’s why they immediately shared their food and water with the hungry-looking pooch. However, they knew something more must be done to secure the safety of the struggling fur baby, so they decided to look for additional help. Since they only had their bicycles, Jarrett let the pup hop into his back.

To give the puppy the treatment that he truly needed, they ventured to the next town and when they arrived in Columbus, they luckily stumbled upon Andrea Shaw who became really interested in knowing what happened to the injured puppy.

“Right when we returned to my local bike shop to get him some more water and food, we instantly ran into Mrs. Andrea who was in town from Maine,” Jarrett said while recalling how they met Mrs. Andrea. “She decided to keep him and get him checked out medically.”

Love at first sight.

That’s what Mrs. Andrea felt toward the puppy who she later on named Columbo, the town where she met the injured pup. As it turned out, the kind woman wasn’t only interested in giving the puppy get medical assistance but also wanted to bring him home.

“She paid for him to have his leg repaired with surgery and found an organization that could help get him back to Maine to live on her horse farm,” Jarrett said.

The story gained the people’s interest that’s why they decided to create a Facebook account where they can share updates about Columbo’s healing progress.

“Bo traveled with 25 staples in his hind leg after having four pins to put in to stabilize the fractures and a full cast on a front leg to stabilize a broken toe…. They gave him all his meds and kept him comfy until he was back in my arms,” Andrea wrote in a Facebook post.

It’s all thanks to Jarrett and his fellow cyclists, because of them, they’re able to save Columbo from grave danger and also let him meet his new forever family. May it be a coincidence or not, we are all happy with how this beautiful story ended.
