Dad asks “where’s cat” and adorable Golden Retriever gives up the coordinates
What we see on television isn’t always right.
Like the misconception about the relationship between cats and dogs.
They’re not always out to get each other.
Not all cats and dogs fight, like what we always see, although it depends on many factors.
The website askdruniverse.wsu.edu explains:
“Because cats and dogs are different species, they aren’t usually friends in nature. Dogs in the wild see cats as prey, and cats see dogs as a threat. They don’t choose this; it’s just hardwired into their brains. And when they live together in a house, they compete with each other for food, territory and human attention. This makes them even more likely to fight, but it doesn’t mean they can’t learn to get along.”
And haven’t we seen animal stories featuring the friendship between dogs and cats?
One of the many examples of this is Halo and Harper of Toledo, Ohio.
Halo is a ginger male cat.
Harper is a female Golden Retriever and they are the best of furry friends who love each other so much.
Although there are times when they seem to be fighting, that’s not until you give them a closer look.
That’s exactly what happened in this video taken by their owner.
Halo and Harper were playing hide and seek.
Only this time, their human dad was the seeker and the clever Golden retriever was hiding none other than her feline brother.
Given that Harper is a lot bigger than Halo, she’s a perfect hiding place for her little brother.
In fact, whenever the two start to cuddle each other, Halo sometimes ends up missing, not literally but you just couldn’t see the little cat.
Because of that, Harper developed this habit of hiding Halo.
He even hides him from their dad.
Although we couldn’t really tell if all this time, Halo was okay with it.
To know the answer himself, Harper and Halo’s human dad decided to film them as they play their favorite game – hide and seek.
Looking suspicious, dad zooms in on the camera before confronting Harper and her behavior.
“Harper?” dad chides as the Retriever continues to cleverly hide her nose under her paw.
Whether it’s true or not, it looks pretty obvious that the sneaky dog is up for something.
She’s definitely hiding something from her dad’s sight.
“What are you doing?” dad asks.
And as the clever Retriever lifts her head up, there’s Halo lying underneath her.
Having their colors match also makes it quite difficult to spot the little feline.
“Oh, my goodness,” exclaims dad.
Although there’s no telling if Halo was okay with his big sister hiding him, he didn’t look upset or suffocated by what Harper did.
After all, Golden Retrievers are known to be friendly in nature.
One YouTube viewer somehow knows a thing or two about a Retriever’s personality.
“I used to think Retrievers were sweet but a bit dull. After adopting a friend’s, I’ve learnt how wrong I was. They’re so smart with layers of personality. I talk to her all day and she answers with various snorts.”
Couldn’t agree more with that.
