After he read the note, Kevin Duke realized that he had to return the car. The former owner had already lost so much.

It all started when Kevin Duke, who lives in Kentucky, decided to buy his daughter a car. He found a good deal online and went to pick it up.

As he was driving the car back home, he made a shocking discovery. Inside the glove compartment was a note in an envelope. The envelope was for the new car owner and said that it had some important information inside.

Kevin decided to read the note.

The note revealed the circumstances of how the previous owner had ended up losing the car and so much more.

The message opened with the following text:

After the house fire, the owner had lost almost everything. In fact, this car was her final connection to her mother, daughter and aunt.

The bereaved former owner would never have parted with the car willingly. But the insurance company made an error on their paperwork, meaning that the car was not paid off. The owner was therefore forced to give up her beloved car.

The former owner then went on to explain that she was not mad at the new owner. She also hoped that the car would become as special to them as it had been to her. In fact, the image of the car being filled with kids was clearly one of the few things that was helping her get over the loss of the car.

The former owner asked whoever owned the car now to be nice to the vehicle. She asked if they could play country music in honor of her departed daughter. And she added that the car was named Sylvia. She would really like the new owner to keep this name.

Lastly, the former owner said that if they ever wanted to sell the vehicle, then she would do what she could to buy it back.

The former owner had just paid for three funerals, meaning that right now she had no way of paying for the car. But hopefully one day, she would be able to afford it.

When Kevin finished reading this letter, he was no longer holding back tears. In fact, he shared the note to his Facebook page, where it soon gained thousands of reactions, comments and shares.

Kevin said that he wanted to return the car to its former owner. He had realized that the car was just too important to her. Pretty soon, some people who had seen Kevin’s post had set up a fundraiser so that Kevin would not lose any money on the purchase.

So Kevin, his daughter and the lady who had organized the fundraiser drove out to meet the former owner, Sabrina.

Sabrina had no idea that the car was being returned to her until she saw it in the parking lot. Sabrina hugged Kevin and thanked him for returning the car. Nothing would bring Sabrina’s mother, daughter and aunt back. But thanks to the kindness of others, she was finally able to regain this link to her family.
