It’s basically the law for teenage girls to find their dads embarrassing. But this father got the last laugh when he walked in on his two daughters making a dance video.

We all know what dad dancing looks like:

But what about this dad’s dancing!? Anyone who watches this video has to agree that it’s impressive.

His daughters disagreed. Being teenagers, they couldn’t see their father as anything other than the guy that embarrassed them on the dancefloor at weddings.

So the dad hatched a sneaky plan to show his daughters that his dancing was nothing for them to be ashamed of.

One day, the girls set up a camera in their kitchen and decided to show off a dance routine that they’d been practicing.

The girls hit record and faced the camera. Unbeknownst to them, their dad snuck into the background of the shot.

The dad started moving to the beat, having much more energy than either of his daughters.

Then, when the song really kicked in all three of the people on the makeshift dancefloor jumped into position. The dad had impeccable timing. He’d only seen his daughters rehearse a few times, but he was able to match their moves perfectly.

Then the dad started showing off his own moves that were different to the girls’. It’s hard to deny that his moves were much better than theirs!

The girls then heard their dad in the background and looked around mid-dance.

They were both shocked to see him and screamed “Daddy!?” The dad didn’t stop dancing. He was just feeling the beat too much.

Sadly, the video cut out there. When the girls watched the footage back, they realized that their father’s moves were ok. So they decided to upload it. That’s when they learned that the dad’s moves were actually much more than just ok.

The video soon went viral, gaining millions of viewers. To date, the video has gained over 2.3 million views on YouTube. It also has more than 6,500 likes.

That’s when the girls learned that their dad was way cooler than they were. It just goes to show that you can get the respect of your teenage children. All that you have to do is watch their dance, sneak in on a recording and upstage them. Who knew that it could be this easy?!

Of course, some parents don’t have the moves that the dad in this video has. But those parents can still take the ethos of the dancing dad in this video.

Most parents have a hidden talent that their kids don’t know about. There’s always an opportune time to show off this skill. Just make sure that it’s a surprise. There’s nothing better than seeing kids get shocked because their parents aren’t actually all that square after all!

It just goes to show that sometimes the best reason to have kids is to one-up them.

Ok, that may not be in and parenting manuals, but we all know that we want our kids to be impressed with us. Just don’t reveal your secrets too early!
