Being a parent has its ups and downs, especially when raising teens. Teenagers are argumentative by nature, and while this is just a part of their growing older and wanting their own freedom, it can create rifts and tension in the family.

On the flipside, there’s something about arguing with a little kid that isn’t challenging at all. In fact, most of the time, it’s pretty amusing.

One dad knows exactly how it feels to be put in place by his own child, when his tiny daughter, Aleah, tries to convince him that she’s got more numerical knowledge than him.

The video of this dad and daughter argument has gone viral, and it’s easy to see why. Dad thinks he’s got the counting basics mastered, but little Aleah is certain that he doesn’t – and their resulting debate is pretty hilarious.

According to dad, counting to five goes like this, “1, 2, 3, 4, 5”. We’re quite relieved that at his age, he knows how to get to five without any help.

But Aleah isn’t having any of it. According to her – and she is absolutely certain of this – counting to 5 goes like this “1, 2, 3, 5”. This sassy little girl doesn’t have time for the number four in her life.

Of course, it’s a dad’s duty to correct his children in such times, so dad tells Aleah,

“No, it’s 1,2,3,4,5.”

Most kids would have a think about this, consider it for a bit, then decide that dad, being the elder, may unfortunately be right. But Aleah just won’t back down! She says,

“No, it’s 1,2,3,5!”

The stubborn look on her face is absolutely priceless.

There might be debates going on around the world about climate change, the formation of the solar system, and whether 5G really is going to kill us all, but Aleah and her dad over here have got a more serious problem on their hands.

To be fair to dad, we don’t blame him for not dropping the argument. This is certainly not a case to say, “Okay, fair enough, you’re right” – not when basic math is concerned! Plus, dad is a teacher, so to go against his very teachings would probably cause him deep shame.

He points this out to his little daughter:

“How are you gonna tell me? How are you gonna tell me? I teach this every day!”

But even as just a toddler, Aleah’s got some fire in her belly! Every time her dad counts to five with the “four” included, she shoots back with “No! It’s 1,2,3,5!” Someone put the girl in debate club!

Mom even jumps in to back dad up, but Aleah refuses to listen. In her mind, her parents have gone cuckoo. What is this number four they keep mentioning, and why are they insisting it fits into the one-to-five count?

We can only imagine what will happen when Aleah next finds herself in a learning situation, perhaps with a teacher and other children, and the teacher dares to run them through their numbers. Because clearly, if mom and dad are wrong, so is the rest of the world.

Luckily, mom is on hand with a quick-witted solution. She says,

“Alright, count to four.”

And would you believe it, little Aleah counts to four! She then continues right up to number eight.

Of course, dad can’t help stepping in with a cheeky, “Point proven.”

This may just be one of the cutest, most hilarious arguments we’ve seen in a long time! Check it out in the video below.
