There is just something pure and magical about a father and child duo who perform a song together, but this one certainly is even more special. This dad decided to sing a Rascal Flatts song to his baby daughter, but he certainly didn’t expect her to ‘sing’ along! Of course, the baby daughter doesn’t really sing the words along, but she certainly knows how to use her vocal cords as she just loves it when daddy sings a song for her.

Dad decided to spend some quality time with his newborn as he started singing “I’m moving on” by Rascal Flatts to her.

“I’m movin’ on. At last I can see life has been patiently waiting for me and I know there’s no guarantees, but I’m not alone. There comes a time in everyone’s life when all you can see are the years passing by and I have made up my mind that those days are gone,” the song goes.

To babies, hearing their own voices, which are a lot higher-pitched than those of adults, actually is preferable to them. Researchers from McGill University discovered this back in 2015, and they found that the attention span of babies was no less than 40 percent longer when they listened to vowel sounds that were high-pitched and mimicked their own voices compared to regular adult voices. In other words, babies love those classic high pitched voices that they produce themselves and it’ll grab their attention much longer. Perhaps that’s why this baby decided to sing along?

Other studies have also shown that babies love it when they’re being sung to, especially by a loved one. Songs grab their attention better than normally spoken words, and babies can also actually pick up on the rhythm and get familiar with the sounds in the song.

The footage of a dad singing to his infant daughter is just absolutely heartwarming.

You can just tell that the baby girl is absolutely mesmerized when her dad sings the song to her, as she sits on the kitchen table and pays close attention to daddy. Dad also holds her tightly to balance her as he sings the beautiful words of the song to her.

As the song progresses, you can see the baby getting more and more excited about the whole experience, you can see her flailing her arms and twitching her toes as well.

After a little while, the baby then attempts to sing along and it’s absolutely adorable!

Mom Danielle Johnson Jones was there for the whole performance and was also the one who captured this beautiful moment for all of us to see. She posted this cute duet on her Facebook profile, but she certainly didn’t expect it to be seen by so many people! At the time of writing, over 12 million people have viewed the performance and the video has also amassed thousands of shares.

“Precious memories and unbelievable love,” one person commented.

“It is absolutely beautiful and you need to play this at her wedding in the future! Seriously brought tears to my eyes,” another added.

Even though the star of the video is most definitely this adorable baby, we definitely have to recognize the father’s talent too, as he has a great voice. The way he interacts with his baby girl and encourages her to sing along is also just too sweet.
