Very few things in life are more important to a father than dancing with his daughter on her wedding day.

It has been a tradition at wedding receptions for father and daughter to have a sentimental slow dance. One that is bound to bring a tear to everyone’s eye. This father and daughter duo, however, decided to break tradition and give their guests something they would never forget.

They did have a quiet moment slow dancing together. Once it was over, things got shaken up a bit. They had something else up their sleeves.

As they were slow dancing, the song suddenly cut to LMFAO’s “Everyday I’m Shuffling” blasting loud on the speakers.

The father and daughter acted surprised and confused for a second. Not for long though, both of them quickly broke into a rehearsed dance. One that was much more entertaining and upbeat than the last.

What a great idea! Weddings are celebrations, and people should be having a good time.

Of course, tears are bound to fall at weddings, and sentimental moments are unavoidable.

But, at its core, weddings are a celebration of love.

It is a celebration of the falling in love of two people. A commemoration of their commitment to each other.

This dancing duo is not even done yet! LMFAO fades out and Carly Rae Jepsen comes on over the speakers.

The mood changes as the room is filled with the music of “Call Me Maybe”. The father and daughter combo dance out another well-practiced routine.

As Jepsen sings the line, “It’s hard to look right at you baby,” the two turn and point back at the groom. The groom seems to be enjoying the show completely.

The crowd is cheering, the groom is having a great time, and the father and daughter keep the moves coming.

All in all, they have gone through 4 or 5 songs. But they are not even done. They invite everyone else out to the dance floor. The celebration has just begun.

What makes this video stand out was the songs that they danced to. Those songs were not the typical songs used for father-daughter wedding day dances.

Most weddings have picked songs like “My Girl” by The Temptations or “My Little Girl” by Tim McGraw. We’ve all seen dad and daughter glide back and forth to something expected like those.

Yeah, we’ve heard of all of those songs before. But we definitely did not expect to hear them at a father-daughter wedding dance. None of those songs were in Brides.com’s suggested father-daughter dance songs.

Whatever the case, it is always great to have a father take the time to rehearse something special for his daughter on her wedding day.

It cannot be argued that the presence of a father is very important in a girl’s life.

According to the Center for Disease Control, “Fathers’ involvement in their children’s lives has been shown to have a positive effect on children and their well-being in many areas—for example, on increasing the chances of academic success and in reducing the chances of delinquency and substance abuse.”

Seeing this video has set very high expectations for future father-daughter wedding dances. This performance is very hard to beat.
