for Jordan Watson, created “How to Dad,” on a fluke when a few years back he made a satirical instructional video that went viral. The video was meant for a friend of the family who was about to have their first child. After posting the video to Facebook one night, he woke up the next day to find the video a huge hit across the globe, racking up thousands of views.

Jordan describes to The Guardian how he continues to make hit videos.

“How to teach a toddler to sing,” has been posted recently and it’s already reached over half a million views.

The video begins with Jordan teaching the “fundamentals” of music. It’s basically him going through the octaves one by one while his co-star gives each one her all. The little lady copies all of dad’s body movements. She seems to think it helps her reach the notes, and it’s delightful.

Next, they begin going through the different genres of music. Dad throws out a vocal “Mmmm Bop,” and his tiny tot gives it right back with her impeccable comedic timing.

It is obvious this parent knows very little about music. He’s just winging it to get his little cutie to do her antics and entertain us.

After Pop music, is the high fidelity vocals of R&B. Jordan raises a hand to visually display the different vocal ranges. This little girl takes her cue and lifts her arm and sways her head to elevate her voice. Look out Beyoncé.

She even does Country and Western.

Dad sings “Achy Breaky Heart,” to teach her the country music twang. His daughter gives her best with some baby gibberish that sounds like she should be opening for Carrie Underwood.

Her little guttural growl is perfect.

His two-year-old really gets into it when dad has her singing Death Metal.

One YouTuber comments,

I thought they just squeezed that stuff out naturally. She definitely got a gift with the death metal.”

Jordan admits that parenting is not how he makes it seem in his videos. He says to The Guardian,

“90% of it as a parent you’re making it up, and my videos make it look like fun, very carefree. But I’m filming when my kids are in the best mood possible. I’m like every other parent, having sleepless nights or trying to grit my teeth when they’re trying to draw on the walls. But the videos, I remind myself and they’re there to remind all parents, that you’ve got to sometimes step back and have a bit of a giggle.”
