We’ve all experienced buyer’s remorse at one time or another. But Sue and Noel Radford’s instance is crazy for more than one reason.

Most people have the desire to have children at some point in their lives. And everyone has an optimal number of kids in mind. It could be one, two or even 22. Yes, very few people want 22 children. But it happens, as this story proves.

Sue and Noel Radford live in the UK, and they run a bakery together. Their career path is apt, as Sue often has a bun in the oven. (For those who don’t know, “a bun in the oven” is British slang for being pregnant.)

Way back in 1989, Sue and Noel Radford gave birth to their first child, Chris. Sue was only 14 at the time. But she knew then that she was with someone whom she could create a happy family with.

For the next four years, the couple stayed together. They didn’t have any more children during this time. Instead, they focused on raising their boy and building their relationship.

Then, in 1993, Sue learned that she was pregnant again. She and Noel married, and then Sophie, their second child, came into the world.

And Sue and Noel loved having children so much that they just didn’t want to stop!

So they went on to have Chloe, Jack, Daniel, Luke, Millie, Katie and James.

At that point, the couple made a mutual decision.

They realized that nine kids were quite a handful. So Noel arranged to get a vasectomy.

The father went through with the operation. And the couple adjusted to life with nine children.

But as the days went by, both Sue and Noel started to regret their decision.

They hated the idea of little James being the last time they would experience a newborn in their home.

So Noel decided to reverse his vasectomy. Luckily, he was able to do so. And he and Sue got back to making babies asap.

So they then had Ellie, Aimee, Josh, Max, Tillie, Oscar, Caspar, Alfie, Hallie, Phoebe, Archie and, in 2018, Bonnie.

For those who weren’t keeping count, that’s 21 children in 29 years.

When little Bonnie came into the world, once again, Noel and Sue said that enough was enough.

After all, they were now in their 40s. And while Chris and Sophie had moved out, 19 of their kids still lived with them. They remembered back when they had agreed to a vasectomy, when nine kids had seemed like a lot to deal with, and laughed at how easy life had been back then.

So Sue and Noel focused on work and childraising. But once more, the two felt like they were wasting an opportunity by not having more children. After all, would another kid really make that much of a difference?

So in late 2019, Sue and Noel announced on their YouTube channel that, contrary to what they had said before, they were expecting again. Baby number twenty-two is due in Spring 2020.

Will this be their final baby for real this time? Who knows! If Sue has her baby on time, then she will arrive at around the mother’s 45th birthday.

Just imagine being pregnant for most of the last 30 years? It may not be for everyone, but the family is clearly full of love for one another!
