Dad video bombs his teens while they dance to popular song – ends up with over 2 million views

Most dads are infamous for their awkward dancing, but every now and then one busts a move for the ages.

Mississippi dad Mike Jones is one of those fine-footed fathers and he went viral in 2015 for his hilarious video-bomb of his daughters’ “Whip/Nae Nae” dance routine.

Silentó’s tune has spawned what seems like an infinite number of videos of people dancing – sometimes successfully – to the song that its very own dance moves by the same name.

When Jones’ girls set up their “stage” in the kitchen to perform their moves, they failed to realize the real star of the show was behind them.

Dad had snuck in to steal the show.

He even managed to get some booty shaking in while his daughters were trying to nail their number.

But eventually, they figured it out, and that’s part of what makes the video so funny.

Jones gets some “whip” in as well as the “stanky leg” until one of them catches him out of the corner of her eye.

Once the girls realize what’s going on, that’s it. They yell “Daddy!” in embarrassment and the video is over.

“Their first reaction was they were mad and thought I ruined their video,” Jones said.

Jones’ mother-in-law, Terry Delk Blaylock, shared the hilarious video on Facebook and has earned over 21 million views since 2015.

There are another 2 million on YouTube, but that’s likely only a fraction of the total nu,ber of people who have watched it since it’s been shared so widely in the last 4 years.

Jones said his daughters got over the embarrassment of having their dad upstage them and they all agreed to share it online.

“I heard them and peeked out and saw my mother recording and came in behind them. We watched it and said it would be funny to share this for friends and family, but now it’s funny for people all over the world,” Jones told The Daily Journal.

And, of course, once they got Internet famous – or at least their dad did – they were pretty happy it all.

“I always jump in their videos, but once we posted it and their friends starting messaging them saying they saw them on the internet, now it’s the greatest thing in the world.”

Jones wrestles (or at least he did in 2015) with the Amory-based Outlaw Wrestling Organization under the name Studd, so we imagine his daughters already had a pretty tough skin when it comes to their dad being cool.

But Jones never expected the reaction he would get to the video.

In just weeks after it was posted, he received over 12,000 messages on Facebook and thousands of friend requests.

Then there was interest from multiple television shows and he and his daughters ultimately appeared on Fox & Friends.

Pretty impressive for a fairly blurry video of only one minute and 20 seconds!
