Dad comforts his baby getting shots even though he's afraid of needles

Every little boy or little girl turned to their daddies in times of trouble.
They knew Daddy would always be there to chase the monsters away and make things better again. It didn’t matter how old they were, whether they’re newborn, a toddler, a teenager, or even a working adult.

They would always look for their Daddy.
And Daddy would always be there for them, as their first protector. He would jump through hoops to make everything okay for their children.
That’s why when this baby, Debias King, had to get his vaccine, his Daddy, Antwone, knew his baby was not going to like it. There would be tears, cries, and lots of resistance. He knew he had to step up and make the boo-boos go away for his son.

There’s a problem though.
And no it’s not the tears from his baby. It’s the possible tears that might come from his own eyes.
Two things were on Antwone’s mind that day. First, he learned that his father passed away that day. Two, he’s terrified of needles. What’s he going to do now?

The thing he had always done since he became a dad, protect his son at all costs.
“I felt kind of scared a little bit, I knew he was going to go through some pain,” Antwone told PEOPLE. “I had to figure out a way to comfort him, and the day before, I talked to him and said if he needed to cry, go ahead and cry. That morning when we got there, and I let him know again it was okay to cry.”

The nurse prepped baby Debias for his shots while Antwone prepared both of them mentally and emotionally.
Antwone kept talking to Debias to keep his mind off the nurse and his eventual shots.
“Take it like a champ, man. You’ll be alright,” Antwone told his son. “There you go, look at me. You gotta stay strong. Stay strong, baby.”
And now, Debias was just seconds away from getting his shots. Daddy Antwone had to work his magic now, despite his fear of needles.

He looked at Debias in the eyes before he delivered his pep talk.
“C’mon now, we gotta do good. Now, we’re gonna get the shots,” Antwone told Debias. “I want you to look at me now. You gotta be good. I know you gonna cry but it’s okay to cry. It’ll be okay, it’s okay to cry.”
And now, it was time to get the shots.
The nurse called them over to put Debias on the bed. Antwone kissed Debias on the head before he placed him on the bed.

Debias flinched when the nurse applied alcohol on his leg.
“It’s going to be alright. I got your hand,” Antwone reassured Debias. “I got you, I got you, hold on to me. Wow, you’re strong, boy!”
And the first shot went in and the cries came out. Antwone held on to his son and gave him a kiss to comfort him.

He was about to cry himself but held it in for his son.
The second shot had gone in and Antwone cried out louder than Debias.
“Daddy know it! Daddy know it! Daddy know it!” Antwone told Debias.
When the third shot was done, Antwone scooped up the crying Debias and comforted him.
“They did you wrong, they did you wrong,” Antwone told Debias. “Explain it to Daddy. What did they do to you?”
He kept crying but a few more seconds of Daddy holding him, with Antwone’s hand on his back, Debias began to cool down.

He stopped crying a few moments later.
“You’re so strong,” Antwone reassured Debias.
He didn’t know it but Antwone’s fiancee had recorded the whole scene on her mobile phone and posted it on Facebook the same day. Since then, the video has received 17 million views, 129,000 reactions, 42,000 comments, and more than 200,000 shares.
