Dad’s tutorial on how to put a baby to sleep is hilarious
“How To” videos are gaining popularity on the internet as it remotely teaches people how to do “this” and “that.” It actually helps, especially now that most of us are on home quarantine because of the pandemic.
Five years ago, a guy emerged out of nowhere and made a stir on the internet. He has taken parenting to the next level as he shares his parenting “hacks” and “tricks” that win the online viewers’ hearts.
Meet Jordan Watson and his “How to DAD” viral videos.
Watson is a husband, a full-time dad, a part-time landscaper, and a viral video creator.
It was June 26, 2015, when he uploaded his first YouTube video titled, “HOW TO HOLD A BABY” which already has a whopping 3.9 million views. For the record, that’s not his most viewed video.
In an interview with Stuff, Watson said that he didn’t expect the video to go viral:
“It was just me cutting together, in my eyes, crap – just me being an idiot and thinking that one guy at work’s going to like it.”

Since then, he committed to create more content about his subject.
“Every parent can kind of relate, and there’s so many people out there who’re aunties, uncles, they look after people’s kids… It’s just everyday scenarios with kids which has given me the inspiration for it.”
One of Watson’s trademarks is his outfit.
A regular shirt and shorts, or as they’re called in New Zealand, Togs.
In this video that he calls “HOW TO PUT A BABY TO SLEEP,” he shows everyone his clever ways of making his baby sleep.
He demonstrates his witty techniques in a quick flash and with a deadpan delivery that only a comic dad of his caliber can pull-off.
Some of the examples are “The Hypnotist,” where dad swings a toy near the baby’s face and spellbinds her to sleep.
Probably, one of the most effective tricks is “The Bribe Dad.”
It’s where dad bribes the baby to go to sleep with, “tomorrow I’ll let you climb the curtains.”
Have you ever been bribed by your parents? Did it work? Funny because it always does, right?
And if you’re talented enough, then you might as well try “Method Acting.”
It’s a trick where Jordan convinces his child to sleep by pretending to be sleepy too.
If you can relate to “The Dad That Doesn’t Know A Single Lullaby” then we suggest that you start flipping through your phone and learn some on the internet.
This trick is where Jordan hilariously mixes up some Lullabies to make it sound like a legit Lullaby.
What’s really funny about the video is actually not Jordan.

It is none other than his baby daughter, Alba. She’s an essential part of the humor and of the entire video itself.
If you have noticed, all of Jordan’s tricks worked, right? Every time he says the word “sleep,” his little one so goes.
We aren’t sure if they have practiced the entire act, but considering his baby’s age, it’s quite impossible, wouldn’t you agree?

The little girl’s timing is so perfect, it’s like there’s someone behind the camera that’s giving her the queue to lay down and sleep, or pretty much just pretend to sleep.
Jordan’s video wouldn’t be that fun to watch without his little daughter’s participation.
Their chemistry is beyond perfect! They make such an adorable comedic-duo.
He told Stuff:
“You can’t plan a viral video. I think if you take Alba the cute baby out of it, they’re not going to do very well – it’s definitely 99 per cent her, 1 per cent me.”
Here’s what the entertained online viewers have to say about the video.
“The baby throwing himself to sleep is the cutest thing ever,” wrote one person, while another said, “I dont know if that baby is just insanely intelligent, an animatronic, a paid actor or if the dad just really knows his stuff”
Another wrote how wonderful it was to see Dad spending so much time with his baby girl:
“This dad is spending a lot of time with his daugther or son, they have established a very meaningful way of interacting and communicating at a very early stage of the baby, geourgeous dad, georgeous baby”
Of course, no one could get enough of baby Alba herself:
“The way the baby throws her/himself on the matress pretending to sleep is so adorable😍😂”
