Dancers bring heat to the floor with snappy improv dance that gets 3M views

Dance is basically an art form consisting of sequences of body movements.

However, it turns into another level of art when you are doing it not just because you can do it, but because you believe you were born to do it.

These two live and breathe dancing.

First, we have Ben Morris.

He is a Champion Lindy Hopper.

He’s also a two-time World Swing Dance Champion. By these, you’d already know how great he truly is as a dancer.

Ben Morris travels across the globe to join dance competitions and to share his knowledge of dancing with other people.

After graduating from UCLA, he started teaching dance at several Southern California colleges.

When you talk about Swing dance, you should also talk about this man.

Then, there’s Tessa Cunningham.

This talented woman is a Champion West Coast Swing dancer and ranked number one in Canada and second in the world. Wow!

Tessa Cunningham is a diamond in terms of dancing and it made her a fearsome foe to many.

Her regular dance partner is Myles Munroe, and they tour, perform, teach, and compete together in dance events around the world.

Surprise, surprise.

In the Champions Jack and Jill at Summer Hummer, Ben and Tessa were among the dance participants.

One of the fun parts of the event is the Mix & Match competition.

It’s where dancers get paired randomly and are judged on their level of improvisation skills.

And when it was time to start the show, the event’s host called on Ben Morris and asked the gentleman to pick his random partner from a bucket full of names.

It’s indeed a match made in heaven when he luckily drew Tessa to be his partner.

It was a dance that was meant to be.

Cunningham was asked to pick the music and she chose a Michael Jackson original, “The Way You Make Me Feel.”

It’s a sweet and slow rendition to which the dance partners swayed with.

At first, you’d see Morris and Cunningham playing like kids, but as soon as the music started playing – there’s no more messing around.

Slow yet romantic.

They started slow.

They took their time to match the slow-paced music.

With every twist and turn, Ben and Tessa were slowly keeping up and proving to everyone that their duo wasn’t exactly as random as it was.

As the song progressed, the random dance partners kept on pulling off every movement with so much ease.

For someone who doesn’t know how Mix & Match dance competitions work, they might tell Ben and Tessa’s choreography was something they practiced for months.

On top of their amazing Improv West Coast Swing dance, they also did some funny but awesome interpretations of the song itself which both the crowd and their fellow competitors loved.

They came to slay in this event.

When the second song came in, they didn’t shy away from continuing with their electrifying performance.

Almost everyone present was all smiles while watching Morris and Cunningham and that’s why they bagged 2nd place in the Improv West Coast Swing dance category.

One YouTube user commented and somehow summed up their performance.

“This is in my top three favorite Ben improvs… I can watch it again and again and never get tired with its originality! You always dance in the music and with the words which makes no two dances alike… Superb job!”
