Dancers turn themselves into a human kaleidoscope for incredible “Bohemian Rhapsody” routine

In high schools across the country, drill teams have been entertaining people around the world for generations. Unlike a cheerleading squad, drill teams dance along to a variety of musical numbers while wearing colorful costumes and using extravagant props.

One drill team, though, took it to the next level when they performed a colorful routine to the Queen classic “Bohemian Rhapsody.”

A performance to remember

Performing along to the hit song were the Black Diamonds DrillDance drill team which hail from Adelaide, Australia. In fact, DrillDance is specific to the island nation with teams all across the country. In many cases, DrillDance performances are seriously competitive with teams performing yearly at a variety of events across the country.

Performing at the 2018 Australian DrillDance Championships in Tasmania, Australia. The routine that they performed was the same one that won them the National Championship Award and was an encore of that performance. The song they danced to was Queen’s “Bohemian Rhapsody.”

As the 16 performers took the stage, they were dressed up in colorful bodysuits that were half-black and the other half a colorful pattern. They also carried large, orange-feathered fans that were handmade especially for the performance.

As the music starts, the young ladies start to move in rhythmic motion to the music. As they move around the stage, they flutter the fans about, creating a variety of visual effects.

As the team works through a selection of unique moves, they show their physical skill and mental coordination, showing that they are definitely pros at what they do.

The magical routine has so far garnered over 1 million views for the DrillDance team.

As the drill team dances across the stage, they vary their tempo to create a colorful display of dance and motion.

In a near-flawless performance, the dancers show they got what it takes and even have a championship to show for it. The only flaw in the whole performance is when a few of the fans lose their feathers, but who can blame that from happening, with the troupes swift and precise movements.

The group’s song choice was also spot-on as its melodies allowed the dancers to easily showcase their flawless moves. A mixture of a rock ballad, opera, and hard rock, “Bohemian Rhapsody” is loved by music lovers from around the world. Some even consider it to be one of the greatest rock songs of all time.

A skill beyond their years

Throughout the song, the ladies show a poise seldom seen by such young dancers. The video ends as the dancers form a beautiful flower using their brightly-colored fans, and rotate as the music fades.
