Dancers create a human kaleidoscope with “Bohemian Rhapsody” routine

Have you ever heard a song so unique that you couldn’t get it out of your head? That’s what happened to millions of people after listening to Bohemian Rhapsody. Performed by the Freddie Mercury of the famous group Queen, it became the hit of their 1975 album entitled “A Night at the Opera.”

What makes this particular song so different from others is its interesting blend of genres. Bohemian Rhapsody is a compilation of opera, hard rock, and a ballad. Then when you add in the interesting lyrics, it’s was destinated to become a hit. One group of dancers decided to use this song during a performance…and it was epic.

Freddie Mercury was one of a kind

Although this artist passed away in November of 1991, he left his mark on the world. Mercury was a fantastic performer and vocalist. And when it came to writing music, he was a genius. On stage, he had a flair about him that people couldn’t get enough of. So, it only makes sense that dancers performing to this song would have to step up their game — and they did.

They wowed the audience

This dance squad, also referred to as a drill team, consisted of several girls who knew they had their work cut out for them by choosing Bohemian Rhapsody. But dedicated to their craft, they delivered. Every move these girls did was precise. While squads like this don’t do all the fancy tricks expected from cheer dancing, they still didn’t disappoint.

Their dancing wasn’t the only thing that impressed the crowd

This dance squad wore a unique costume. One side of it was all black but once they turned around, you see a pattern on the other side. That combined with big and bright orange feathered fans used as props, they grabbed everyone’s attention within the first five seconds of starting their routine.

They looked like a human kaleidoscope

By moving, repositioning, and shaking their fans, the squad looked more like a human kaleidoscope than a line of dancers. While Bohemian Rhapsody played in the background, every move of their routine was perfectly synchronized. Sure, there are some cool dance videos online, but this one is beyond exciting.

Is it a flower or a fountain?

At one point, the girls all go down to the floor. But when they come up, their props create an illusion that looks like either a flower or fountain. Regardless, it’s stunning. They’re so fun to watch. This is the kind of video you could view repeatedly without getting tired of it. Of course, their choice of music adds to the drama.

Picking up the tempo

As you know, Bohemian Rhapsody begins as a ballad. It has a slow and soothing tempo. But just over a minute into it, the beat becomes faster. As expected, these girls keep up. They continue moving with precision while using their prop to coordinate with the beat of the song.

Now it’s time to rock out

Once the song reaches the part that’s more like rock and roll, this dance squad kicks things into high gear. They shake their feather fans, giving the audience an amazing show. But as soon as the music slows down again, they go from being in one line to waving the props to mimic the movement of a snake. It’s downright brilliant.
