This group of dancers, also known as a dance squad, is out of this world. They work hard as a group to put together challenging routines. Then, they perform the choreography in front of huge crowds at dance competitions.

After practicing this dance number for a long time, they finally got the chance to perform it in front of an audience at the National Drill Dance Championships in Tasmania, Australia. The song they set their routine to is “Bohemian Rhapsody” by Queen. As a super popular song, it captured the audience’s attention right away.

Using props

For starters, these girls’ costumes are amazing…dressed half in black and half in a colored print. But the most impressive part? They’re holding huge orange feather fans. Once the music begins, they begin the routine. They use their fans the entire time to create wave-life effects. It’s a unique way to dance.

Bringing the lyrics to life

Many people know the lyrics to “Bohemian Rhapsody.” So, the girls tried to match the movements to the music. It’s amazing how literal they get. They provide an entertainment experience unlike any other.

At the beginning of the choreography, the dancers stand in a beautiful pose with their fans. With all of them standing together, it almost looks like a big wall of orange. But then, they transition to a line formation, holding the fans like skirts.

Incredible shapes

During the dance, the girls manage to create all kinds of different shapes with their feathered fans. They get very creative during some of these segments. You can tell they practiced these movements a lot because they’re super smooth.

Of course, some of their success has to do with the song of choice. It’s perhaps one of the most popular songs ever, making it easily recognizable. Hopefully, that scored them some points.

They won the National Championships
