Dog approaches deer in a creek – deer's antics earn over 5.6 million views
Various types of deer are in every state of the US. We have all driven down the road and seen them near dusk or dawn (and sometimes almost hit them). Deer are typically pretty skittish. Very rarely do we get up close to them. This story shows how unpredictable and even beautiful nature can be.
Have you ever seen a deer want to play?
Since deer are such prey animals, they are always on the lookout for any signs of movement or listening for a twig snapping. That’s what makes this story so surprising!
This dog-owner took his buddy for a walk and had an incredible encounter with nature.
Yukon and his owner love to go for walks in a wooded spot near their home. On one of these routine walks, Yukon stumbled upon a white-tailed deer!
Realizing that this was an orphaned fawn, they named her Daisy and stuck around.
The owner who took this video (YouTube user named Gruper1) said:
“This deer thinks she’s a dog and runs with my dog when we go for a walk. This time she was feeling a little frisky. My dog (Yukon) and (Daisy) an orphaned fawn, became friends briefly. Whenever I took Yukon for a walk, Daisy would suddenly appear. This particular day she was in playful mood but Yukon could care less. He just wanted to collect rocks for me.”
There may have been a naming opportunity missed!
Bambi has to be one of the most popular movies depicting a deer. They should have named the deer Faline after Bambi’s love interest! Regardless, Daisy is a hilarious little deer.
Wanting to play and frolic, Yukon is interested in something else.
Just like any other dog, Yukon is unpredictable in his behavior. Most dogs would be barking up a storm and chasing a deer that got this close. Instead, Yukon just keeps sniffing around and “looking for rocks” to give his owner!
We don’t know where Daisy came from, but she has some fascinating behavior.
While the exact location of this scene is unknown, this is quite an exciting sight. Depending on where they are, some deer can become acclimated to humans and don’t become skittish around them. An example of this can be seen with the black squirrels in Boston. In the park, you can put your hand out, and the squirrels will come up to you and climb on your hand, looking for food.
Dubbed “Dancing Deer,” the video shows Daisy just wanting to play.
Daisy is having a great time hopping around and loving life. It is pretty incredible to see a deer acting, well, like a dog! Yukon missed out on an opportunity to have a new friend!
With over 5.6 million views, Daisy is a pretty famous deer.
Daisy, the Dancing Deer, has a nice ring, doesn’t it? Scenes that show the unpredictability of nature are always stunning to watch. It is great to see such a calm and heart-warming depiction of a man and his dog (and his adopted deer).
