Well, we can’t tell you much about the nature of the performance, but we do know that 9 “grannies” have been cracking people up with their dancing since at least 2016.

And the video of their hijinks has been viewed over 2.3 million times!

Let’s get it started

At first, all we see is a stage with empty chairs lined up. And you might ask yourself: “what kind of performance takes place with a bunch of people sitting in a straight line?”

Well, that remains unclear even after a group of “grannies” hobble out onto the stage to some background beats.

Walkers? Canes? A wheelchair? What’s all this about?

As they take their seats, there’s some nervous laughter from the crowd and a moment of silence and stillness on the stage.

Then, Fergie’s voice fills the auditorium as the intro from “Let’s Get It Started In Here” by The Black Eye Peas begins to play.

They’ve got the moves

Ok, so we’re dancing, apparently.

Once we hear the song “Low,” by Flo Rida, we know they’re going to need to step up their game. Are they really grannies trying to dance? Or are they just dressed up and ready to surprise the crowd?

The latter, apparently.

As the first two ladies get a bit too low, they head back to their seats to give up the stage to the next pair.

Watch them whip

So we’re off to an interesting start.

And it’s clear that the canes are just a prop as the next two women stand and “Watch Me (Whip/Nae Nae)” by Silento plays. They might not have the moves of teenagers, but they can whip and they can nae nae without support.

At this point, the audience is laughing pretty hard, but it’s the next act that would have them in hysterics.

They know how to work

If you’re going to play Rhianna, you better have your moves ready. And, luckily, the next two grannies to take the stage in their slippers and pajamas do justice to her song “Work.”

We’re starting to think she doesn’t need that walker.

At this point, we really wish we knew when, where, and why this was taking place. Is it a talent show?

All we know by this point is that these aren’t really “grannies.”

Can they jump on it?

One of the final pairs to come out is a couple (and we just noticed there’s at least one guy on stage!).

Grandpa’s leg doesn’t look like it’s doing too well, so we’re not sure how they plan to get their groove on to “Apache (Jump On It)” by Sugar Hill Gang as it begins to play.

We won’t ruin their surprise moves for you, but let’s just say they manage to pull it off without looking all that limber. And it just goes to show that you can be pretty stiff and still move your body a little!

Looking a bit wobbly

As the group looks to the end of the line, a woman in a wheelchair and her dance partner in a housecoat take the stage to V.I.C.’s “Wobble.”

Let’s just say it’s quite the sight to behold.
